This album introduced me to TMV. When I just got it, I was so shocked with, and deeply affected by the strangeness, beauty, and intensity of it, I was afraid listening to it too much would drive me insane.
@meemeesiko57 great comment by I think they are the runner ups to being today's Pink Floyd, but you have to agree (if you have listened to them) that Radiohead is today's Pink Floyd
Radiohead is certainly more diverse than Volta. They've experimented much more in sound that Volta, and that's what made Floyd famous. But I would much rather listen to Volta than Radiohead. Musically, Volta is funner to listen to. And to me that's what matters the most. That's why Volta can't compare to a band like Streetlight Manifesto, because that stuff is such a fun listen.
But I agree. If there really was a Floyd of this age, Radiohead would be them. Volta are the runners up.
First of all, thers no comparison to floyds-what so ever.S2nd of all, radiohead and TMV are different kinds off muzak so u cant clearly compare them either.3d of all,ever1 who would like to compare artists and bands(if they r not generated by music industry)are wasting their brain juice
I can compare anything and everything because it all originated from the same source. Jazz. Every type of music in the world, aside of some highly experimental and frankly annoying sounds are derived from jazz. Everything is comparable. To say one type of music is different from another is just wrong. It's all music, and 99 percent of it is worth listening to. It's all music. Who cares what genre certain artists belong to? It's all music. Comparing is just how I look at things.
burpeemetaldrumguy holy shit i was just on an unexpect video before i went here but i think unexpect is more classically influenced and much more metal the mars volta is more seventies rock
