WASHINGTON – The Jesuit order has agreed to ay more than $166 million to the more than 500 victims who suffered sexual abuse when they were kids in Catholic schools in five states of the U.S. northwest, the victims’ attorney said.
Most of those affected are Indians who suffered abuse at the hands of priests in what is known as the Oregon Province of the Society of Jesus, which includes the states of Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Idaho and Montana, according to the local press.

There are many words that we say or use that are not in the bible, does it mean they are not of God. If we can not decern love from hatred, or evil from good then how can one read the word of God and know He is GOOD and TRUTH. For it is our Faith in God and His love for us that we believe what we have been given in the Catholic Church given to us on earth by God.

Another tool used by religion is division. Just the fact that you say you have the fullness of truth... well guess what that's just like saying anything any other religion has to say is unimportant or not worth your time!

Correct me if I am wrong but I understand that the Pharisees knew that Jesus was a blasphemer and not one who is from God. They condemned him because they claimed to know the truth. He told them that they are blind guides and their sin remains.
I see a lot of people in here doing the same thing but they do not seem to be Catholic for the most part.
Is it my imagination or is truth what I see people saying?
I notice people who do not believe Catholics, chastise their faith with veracity. I also notice that Catholics do not chastise the same people who claim to know the truth.
Especially this @ergotrof guy. He seems a little whacked out in his understanding of scripture. Are their any non Catholics that have anything good to say besides condemning other faiths?
@ergotrof I have been looking into different denominations so i can find the truth myself. What I have discovered so far is that many people seem to harshly ridicule the Catholic and Mormon churches.
These same people do not seem to demonstrate love of god but rather hatred for other people. I don't see catholic s or Mormons doing this making such hateful statements.
I also have not seen that Mormon s and Catholic s agree on scripture.
Of course, I love all of the various images of Christ....I could sit and stare and meditate all day on them! But the Divine Mercy Image, in my self-absorption, seems to be just for me.....to let me know that no matter how bad my sin is, He will forgive. He will not turn from me in anger or disgust. He turns to me and says "Follow me and sin no more; you will be set free!

If you are ouside the Catholic Chuch and denounce the Catholic faith, it is apparent that you just envy the Catholic Church. I strongly disagree. In my opinion prayer achieves nothing. Real action is needed to save real lives and reduce suffering.
Promoting the avoidance of contraception is a great failing of the catholic church. It has created orphans, helped spread disease and demonstrates to me that dogma must be challenged wherever it is met.
