you didnt need to stick Boy George in the middle of it all , the attempt jarr our gender perception wasnt apreciated you sicko . God bless you. enemy.
@05neal This video was done the old fashioned way back in 1983 or '84...two VHS video machines and a record player. That's one reason the video quality is low, and there are flushes of color racing across the screen at some edit points.
I have just finished watching internet pornography for two hours. Burst into tears for the shame of it, then stumbled upon this video clip. Who are the real girls indeed? And am I a real man? (and I dare to bear Jesus name). What is wrong with my heart. Why are men so incomplete. Lust offers everything and delivers nothing. Please pray for me if you read this. Thank God for Daniel Amos who ask REAL questions. God bless Terry Taylor. May angels guard us all from our dark hearted debasement. :(
Nothing wrong with your heart. It is called sin nature. We are stuck with it til we die. Just as Paul struggled with sin, so must we. The point is to make the correct decision next time. I just prayed for you in this area of sin.
Thank you friend. Have not been on the internet for a few months, have the house to myself and like a dog returning to its vomit I returned with the worst intentions. Found your prayer for me and much to Gods delight discovered that this very day you have brought me before the throne of Gods grace. Gods timing is simply, profoundly humbling. Thank you Jesus for standing with me today via azgrunge. "I'm not quite as bad as you think I am. Not quite as good as you might have planned" (DA) alex
1 Corinthians 10:13 says "No temptation has overtaken you but such is as common to man and God is faithful who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able but with the temptation God will provide the way of escape also so that you may be able to endure it." This verse took me forever to memorize but it is worth it. Each part of the verse says something. I challenge you to memorize it. I am sending another prayer out for you Alex.
Well done "good and faithful servant" for it pleases our God to use you for his glory. You azgrunge were the means by which God enabled me to overcome my sin. Thanks mate. You were Gods provision for me in my time of need. You shall receive an eternal blessing for your good work done in faith. Please stay in touch. Cheers alexleitch37.
Doppelgänger was the first DA album I ever bought. I had listened to ¡Alarma!earlier at a friend's house and got hooked. After that I had to get the rest of the Chronicles and find out what happens! Thanks for posting
I'm surprised that the best you could do for an anti-war song was Red White and Blue. Listen to the Daniel Amos Album "Kalhoun", and you'll wonder how Terry knew what was going to happen way back in the 80's. "A Father Explains" is the exact song you were looking for last year!
...there sure is another one...'it almost seems as if he's heaven sent...he's gonna do a number on you...a very strange tatoo..' '...he'll take our money mess...and...and...'
...it has been awhile since I listened to a DA album. I think I lost the plot...with all the sameness of it...they could have diversified a little ... it just got BORING!
My favorite is "Songs of the Heart" (one of my Top 5 albums of all time from any genre). But "Alarma!" is also a phenomenal album. Really, I think both of those albums are just perfect! Search for the song "When Everyone Wore Hats" from SOFT. There's a great video adaptation of that song on YouTube also.
For the record of all the "Christian" musicians I heard in the 1980s, Terry Taylor is the only one I still listen to, the rest are unlistenable as an adult. So there's that. I still listen to Doppleganger on a regular basis.
I can't see TT as some great Christian witness though, just a singer in a rock and roll band.
All the seculars know this - the so called "Christians" whine and moan about abortion - while they do nothing - and then cheer while their secular Nation - the USA - murders people around the world. Christians used to say "No King But Jesus" now they say "I love George Bush". Whatever you do to the least of these you do to me. It would be better to have a millstone around your neck. You all have been warned now it's serious, God is not mocked.
I'm not sure what Daniel Amos has to do with your "white Republican fake Christians bringing on God's wraith" rant. Apparently you are a non-white Democratic real Christian... if I follow the semi-logic of your sermon. Actually, the only things you said that made any sense was "Good song...clever song."
This has nothing to do with me - why are so called "Christian" bands playing segregated Churches, segregated Cornerstone festivals, and record on segregated record labels where the criteria to be "Christian" seems to be Republican, conservative, and usually white. Why?
If Terry Taylor wrote an anti-war song would they still let him play Cornerstone?
No anti-war songs from Terry Taylor? Man, you are so wrong. Check out "Red, White, & Blue" from the 2nd Lost Dogs album. There's even an anti-Bush song (Daddy Bush, not W) on the first album called "Bush League".
apparently NY you have a burr stuck in your craw. DA has nothing to do with your chosen rant. Different people are called to different ministry. Larry Norman was outspoken, minced no words, and actually produced DA's Horrendous Disc, and yet he was vilified more than any other artist. Now that he's passed on this week, I wonder who the target will now become? White Christians vilified Larry who was white so what is your point?
Good song can't complain, as much as I hate your White Republican fake-"Christian" crap this is a clever song.
Now when is Terry Taylor going to write a song about all the poor Iraqis the Americans have raped, tortured, and murdered? Too hot a topic? Might offend some Big Wig GOP Church leaders?
If not go back to your subculture lukewarmers. You do nothing but blunt the effect of the Gospel.
Edited well, and a good collection of images. But really, the only shot I saw of something that really echoed the song's question in any depth was that of Boy George. I mean, what about an image of Sigourney Weaver from the Alien series? If you're going to have famous singers there, then what about Janis Joplin to counter Boy George. And how come they're all whitie 'girls' or is that women? What about Aretha Franklin? She's big, she's black, but god she's beautiful!
Thanks for the comments and suggestions. If I were inclined to do an update of this video I could definitely see flashing a lot of quick shots of famous women and female archetypes like the ones you suggested. You have to remember I put this together over 20 years ago using my rather meager video collection at the time. I had no idea back then there would be a venue where anyone in the world with a computer might watch it.
Yeah, you do say that in the comments. Good point - that is impressive. ... (Twenty years ago they still used scissors and tape, right?! But seriously...) For your next project/challenge... Heard of that song by Joe Jackson 'Real Men'? Similar kind of theme, tho quite different style of song.
Many thanks from a DA fan in South Africa. The song has plenty to say about the nonsense we live with daily in this weird world. Thanks for the visual work. Super.

Sample lyric from Red White & Blue"

For the cash of the realm
I will tell you all my stories
You can write em down
But you can save your tears
For the names on the wall
I'm a living reminder that
