I don't think she's in love with him anymore but she likely still feels deeply connected to him and he her. I mean, they had a child together and were married for over twenty years. I also think that during most of their marriage Eddie was far more successful and dominant than her. Her career tanked for the better part of twenty yrs, and it seems like she was fairly depressed and withdrawn during the 90s, so I don't think she had the luxury of just walking out on him.

I read the book, and her voice really isn't there. I didn't feel the passion in it they way she talks. I wish I could say I liked it--because I do like what she's trying to say (besides the new-age stuff). I wish her well in her new life and I do think she'll keep her weight off.

Ever considered that her marriage to Eddie was part of the reason for the weight gain? Valerie has said many times that she loves eating, so it would be no surpised if, when things got tough, she turned to food for comfort. She needed to break from Eddie in order to get to a place where she could turn things around. (Haven't read the book, though, so perhaps I'm way off base).

I was one of the people who bought Valerie's book and put it down right away after reading her Bush basing. I won't support a book who bashes a President I believe in, that's my right as a citizen. Im not surprised her book sales plummeted, when will these famous people learn you just can't do that?
