Marvelous to see Arthur Blythe - Probably the most under-rated alto of the last 40 years. He was great with Chico Hamilton in the 60s & better every year there-after. He and James Spaulding are Bird's descendants

when jack dejohnette toured w/the 1st incarnation of special edition i went to see them in a club - had no idea who the other 3 guys were be4 that night - peter warren/bass, david murray/tenor sax & bass clarinet, & arthur blythe on alto.
man, i'm glad i went to that show - introduced me to some remarkable players
