Yeah, the Envoy does have 4 lo, but it also doesn't have enough ground clearance to be a very serious off road vehicle. I've never been stuck, but it's a little too easy to bottom out.
6 cylinder gets about 13.5 mpg...you're right, I shoulda got a V8.
The XUV's sliding roof has come in handy a couple times, but losing the third row seat and the added complexity of an semi-unreliable electric tailgate may not be such a good trade off.
