Rich-quick question. I got a new laptop for Christmas and the specs are Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit 4gb Ram AMD phenom(tm) II P960 Quad-Core Processor.

I've been using vegas movie studio to edit my montages for my other channel and I've downloaded Sony Vegas Pro 9 but it lags for me on pro 9 even though my computer specs are pretty good. That's why I used Movie Studio Platinum 11 to edit as it has no lag. Please message back for any tips I should use.

Sure is great to turn an ancient video from the stone age into a sharp, modern-day wonder! You gave really great advice for instantly transforming a bad video into a very clear video however when you go to >Project>Project Properties>Video there is no Pixel Format box that will allow you to raise it from 8bit to 32bit in Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 Production Suite which is VERY odd. Does anyone know if Vegas Pro version 10 and V11 will allow a videographer to bump the bpc up to 64 bit?

@fidelbuds10 hey @fidelbuds....there is another way....render ur video in HD and then convert the video using hamster converter....convert it in MPEG....there will be no change in both of the videos.....because wen i was doin it...the file was of 427 mb and after converting it was only 135 mb....and there was no diffrence...BOTH WERE the SAME.....try it hope it works..:D

this technique doesnt seem to work too well for me. i film a few outdoorsy (i just invented this word) videos and i find it hard to find a good balance of greens, blues and reds because theyre present and important. i always seem to get a cold wash, and then when i upload to youtube, it seems to wash it again. might be down to render settings but i think ive given up, and will have to be content with washy videos. alittle help would be mostly appreciated. :)

it's the first time I heard about this format, your best solution is to download K-Lite Codec Pack, or you could download a video converter. Then convert it as wmv or any format so that you can drag it in Vegas.

I tried this on a recent video, but my main problem was after adding effects and rendering then adding effects again then rendering etc, the colour and quality seemed to get worse each time, is it my settings or is there a limited number of times you can work on a clip? Cheers mate

@kevkonk The more times you render and re-render you will lose quality (unless you render at full quality each time) I tend to render all the effects in one but that can be very slow (sometimes I've had up to 16 tracks going LOL...no wonder my old laptop couldn't take it and gave up!) Having said that I have had good results with rendering once with effects and adding something on top later, so 2 renders in total.

@CACO392 yes you can, I used it in my video 'min ternational rescue) basically you 'mask' around the car and 'lift' it to reveal a shot of the scene that doesn't have the car in). You can mask the wheel individually too so that you can 'rotate' them to give the impression of them moving a little...I'll maybe do a tutorial :)

Yeah, I recently discovered that adjusting the saturation can really bring out the color and make clips look alot better. However, I've been using the main color corrector and not the secondary one with the Studio/Computer RGB pre-set. Should I use the one you're using instead? I don't really see a difference though.

Also, for sharpening the video, can you just use the 2nd method instead of the first? The 2nd is much easier. On Vegas 9 there are 2 different 32 bit pixel formats.
