This epic masterpiece is the tune that really got me into liking bruce the whole album is a great fukin piece But the first two with Paul are my favs It's almost surreal to hear this guitar phenom since 80 the days of Eddie are so cool especially the drawings.I dont believe Alex was gay he had so much pussy it must have been some jealous fellatio homo who started the story.Especially singing Bruce never mentions any of it I just don't buy it even if it is true

@romadadrummer yes absolutely and the Byzantine Empire was not Greek. It was the eastern half of the Roman Empire run by Emperor Constantine(roman name not greek). Although Greek was the language chosen for Byzantium it still remained Roman. Yeah and so what if Constantinople was freed from Ottoman occupation in 1453 it still remains under Turkey presently. Yes Greece is weak because the church is corrupt( many live in splendour) while the middle class suffers.

@romadadrummer Secondly, Russia while Orthodox has it's own representation in other words a separate leader( called a patriarch) and interprets Christianity a little differently. For example they celebrate Christmas in early January while Greece celebrates it with the rest of the world on December 25. Who cares anyways. Real Greeks are atheists anyways or shall i say hedonistic hypocrites.

Bruce only sang part of the Alexander The Great chorus on one of the Greece shows but that is it. They never played The Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner either, that has only been played live once or twice in 1986 and has only been recorded once (look at my channel).

Thank you for posting this with a slideshow! This is one of my absolute favorite Maiden songs along with Hallowed be thy name and Phantom of the Opera, therefore one of my favorite songs ever! Adrian Smith and Dave Murray's solo work on the second half is heartstomping! My favorite guitar work ever!
