Jatropha has fantastic potential. A Kenyan farmer with just a hectare of land, with the proper seed and training, could earn well over a thousand dollars for his family. That's a big deal in that region.
Of course, that's dependent on an out-grower program in his area run by a company that isn't merely looking to exploit the people (as tobacco out-grower programs are prone to do).
This is why I'm involved with Bedford Biofuels, a socially responsible company planting jatropha in Kenya.
@robvh2 This is quite the illusion going on here......without NEMA approval in Kenya.....BBiofuels has no chance to proceed with their project.....yet what a great investment???
I would not let my worst enemy invest in this farce......
@WTFBiofuels And what if they do have NEMA approval? I don't work for them and so I don't presume to speak in any official capacity but I think you need to check your facts. Give it a few weeks first.
@robvh2 now there's an expression i don't care for....what if......
the fact remains that they do not have final approval to plant one plant....or to start a massive clearing of land...
Yet they sell it like the approval is a given....with no approval....there will be no development in the tana delta...
Just ask.....when.....when will they start planting??? If you can get a definite answer, write it down, then ask later why nothing has happened. That remains to be the story with b biofuels
@WTFBiofuels Be careful because it sounds like you're accusing them of misrepresentation. However, everything is clearly laid out in the Offering Memorandum including risks.
Keep in mind that with risk, there also tends to be an increase in reward to make that risk worth taking. So it's up to you as an investor and if a particular investment doesn't suit you, that's fine. Move along.
Keep an eye on it though, just for fun, because I think there will be big news in the near future.
@WTFBiofuels What I'm saying is that you don't know all the facts and your behaviour casts suspicion on your motives. I haven't stretched the truth in our conversation one iota. I think you're hiding behind your anonymity and so I'm ending this conversation for now. If/when there's fresh, material news, you can apologize at that time.
@WTFBiofuels You're right that nobody can plant on a large scale until they have environmental approval. And we all know that working with a government agency can drag on longer than expected! That being said, I recommend you check out the News section of their website. Environmental (NEMA) approval is official! That's huge and very positive news.
@robvh2 wow.....i guess its simple now.....just decide which variant of the plant will thrive....plant it...and wait four years for an investment income.....yes sign me up!!!! LMAO NEMA was just one of their problems....
If you don't need liquidity, or return on investment, or you like an investment that is hard to understand (with no track record).....go for it. thats why its called risk capital.....
@WTFBiofuels I don't find the investment or the project hard to understand. However, if YOU struggle with it, and if it doesn't fit your profile, then you SHOULD pass on it. Obviously. I'm willing to be patient for the opportunity to earn high, long-term returns. I don't need immediate cash flow. 2 years is fine.
Again, what's curious is your agenda. You created an account 2 weeks ago just to attack the company. There's been no other activity on your account. Whatever.
@WTFBiofuels I find it very... curious that you created a brand new YouTube account (with biofuels right in the name) seemingly with the sole intent to attack a particular company and investment. One can't help but wonder about your agenda.
This is the investment industry -- a regulated industry -- and so if you have a vested interest in a competing company or investment, I would advise you to tread carefully with your claims so you don't run afoul of the regulators. Word to the wise.
This can help the Kenya's,and other African country's,if they control it themselves and work together to make it happen for the benefit of their countrys and peoples.Solar panel should be used on every government building in hot country's.
Thats not efficient at all, you can't even power a truck for a day on 2 liters and expect to go anywhere. And THEN they want to talk about exporting it? Not smart, growing edible crops is an awesome idea if they can get some shade by planting all these trees
What about Industrial Hemp? It has 3 crops per season...but i think u have to process the oil for fuel. it's also used as food, homes, clothes, lotions, shoes...! Henry ford make a car and fuel out of it before it was outlawed in the 30's to make way for ....nylon...a petroleum product.
kenya has a lot of land, but not a lot of water for agriculture.

Just be sure to keep to the Fairchild's, J.P. Morgan, & the Rockefeller family's out of it and you will be just fine.

The only hope for Kenyans is that they realize that Economic Hitmen have bribed their politicians to rape their lands of natural resources
And that they need to stop fighting among themselves, and rather battle against the soulless corporations that rape their land!

Only the strong survive
We are in an animal world
Many forms of religion become forces of "social control" by preaching weakness
Life is a nightmare from which we cannot awake!

Jatropha can help ALL of Africa.

Hopefully this does help Kenya.
With all the droughts going on in the world, we really do need to slow down global warming and use alternative fuel sources.
With all the heat waves; we should have solar panels everywhere.

Now now, we can use the seeds for fuel, the buds for getting stoned, and the hemp as a cash crop. There's enough to go around.

Growing Marijuana will stop soil erosion. Or, Hemp can be turned into a bio fuel. Never mind that is a stupid idea.
