I own a ZTE Blade (5V, 650mA), it only pulls the 650mA over USB if data+ and data- are shortened together like on the original wall charger. Otherwise it charges slowly.
If I find a place to hook up to the power pins of the USB, will it be killed by the touchstone because the touchstone tries to deliver 1A, or does the Blade decide how much current it draws like on a normal charge through usb since the charger electronic is not (and should not) be bypassed?
@AndyMartyr lol true but you can just walk into a room and plunk your phone on the charger, no fiddling with the battery door and plugging the cable into the port. I recently came off the palm pre and loved the inductive charging. I miss it with my EVO but prob not to the point of wanting to mess with the internals of my phone. Plus I'm not sure if it would work with my otterbox case on the phone.
hi, i love what you did with the evo, i have peel off the unit from my palm pre and attach it to my back door of my evo, but i have try to a number of combiantion on placing the two wires to the evo baterry imputs, but it wount work. so can you please help me on where to connect the two wire in to the evo. thank you...
I can see how this would be easy to do Most likely tied in to the USB power 5v is all that's needed and that's what the touchstone cover puts out when on the touch stone would be neat to see how you did it though
Could you at least detail how you got the induction plate to fit in the evo case, and made the connections from the inductor contacts to the battery. there is no room in the evo i can see. Also have you left it on there for 8 plus hours and see how your evo handles the heat?

I dont see the point in this. You still have to connect the charger in the wall... Not like its wireless or anything. Hands down

For whoever doesn't understand, the mod is that the HTC EVO can charge using the Touchstone, this is normally not possible. Thumbs up please

Maybe this could work on the HD2?
The battery compartment is quite cramped so it may be more difficult to achieve this.
