Now it is wise not to disrespect other faiths. But to make a ridiculous story short, my cousin (an Indian Hindu) was applying for admission into an engineering and business college. However, out of no blue, they wanted him to submit an essay on WHAT RELIGION he practices in order to be considered and evaluated for admission. That topic IS NOT EVEN damn relevant to the major that he was intending to study. So, we figured that he was facing religious discrimination from fundamentalist Christians!

Wow, what a surprise, churches descriminating, legally, with the aid of the government. This is a joke!!! There are two things that should be illegal in this great country of ours: RELIGION & POLITICS. Without the two, i'm sure we'd all do pretty well. Before you mouth off, give me one good reason why any christian organisation should be allowed to descriminate against anyone? The religion is based on lies, backed by bullshit, encouraged by stupidity, funded my idiots AND RUN BY PEADOPHILES.

Wouldn't it be fair that donations (given by their followers might I add) should be tax exempt? To that extent should there be tax breaks.

I believe that does happen in all those groups. You'd find it VERY hard to find at the top positions of Gay Rights Groups a heterosexual who really couldn't give a damn about Gay Rights, but wanted a job anyway to pay the bills. You'd find it hard to find a misogynist guy working or given the job at Women's Groups. You'd find it hard to find people like John Howard in Indigenous Groups.

Also, after all, if YOU are paying to get your toilet fixed or have a garage built, wouldn't you rather prefer to have someone who is really into plumping or building? Not some person who is just doing it merely as a job?

Christian schools have their identity and ethos that are Christian based. Suffice to say, to enable a Satanist (for example) or an Atheist who don't care about Christianity to become a teacher in such schools just don't make sense.

Plus, the Churches don't pay taxes because their incomes are through DONATIONS!!!! I disagree with how some churches (ie, Hillsong, CCC) are run far too much like business and are multi-million dollar "businesses"; but there are also many other very poor churches.

Trying to tax them all would be like taxing a busker because John Mayer is making millions of dollars (although, Mayer does get taxed).

But so does Hillsong with their CD sales, concerts, etc, etc.

How do you explain they Mega churches and the Vatican's wealth? We need to take as much money from the poison pushers as we can, maybe we could inflict some damage on irrational people.

Its a shame people can make money without really knowing anything.

@Martial024. Hey dude. I'm pretty sure I've explained the "Mega" churches in my previous post? They are run like businesses...? Do you have such disdain for Coke or cigarette companies? They are mega rich aren't they? And their products don't exactly benefit humanity. Yet, people don't seem to give a slightest dang about these mega corporations that wield so much influence on governments, etc...

@illusionoffame Which is why said churches should be on equal legal ground. There comes a point where a supposedly non profit organization makes and uses quite a lot of money. Considering the lives of luxury people who run the larger churches tend to lead with no other job I'm thinking it's time they're taxed like any other business. Make money and have some of it taxed. That is the way most governments earn funds at least.

@Martial024 Also, from your post, obviously you have certain dislike for religions...well, at Christianity anyway.

But it has lasted for 2000 years and is showing no sign of withering away for a very good reason. A reason you may not see. In any case, your personal feelings against Christianity do not make them people who doesn't "really know anything".

Perhaps a little soul searching would serve you well.
