  • What kind of camera did you use?

  • "Train Approaching, Please Stay Remain The Yellow Line"

  • You have around 10 seconds after hearing the warning to save yourself. I think it's too short.

  • Aweosme Angle at 0:26!

  • Starting just after :25 I timed the acela start to finish a few times and came up with

3.8 seconds. The Acela is 663 feet long, so 663/3.8=174.5 fps, 174.5*60(min)*60

(hour) divided by 5280'(mile)=119mph. That's pretty fast. I got a couple at 3.3 seconds which is close to 140mph

  • Hey, if theres an acela express at that station on May 22nd, please record it because it might be the one i'm going to ride.

  • Way cool video. Thanx

  • i never knew why the faster speeds in rhode islane doesnt the mbta run on this line too they should do 150 in jersey and pasince the acela mainly runs on the express tracks here

  • NICE HORN SHOWS

  • I've always been a big fan of US Railways but now it seems that you have turned-out a carbon copy of some European thing - sure it's sleek and fast but not very, er... American to my mind.

  • Nice Shots!! :)

  • what station is tht?

  • The Acela needs a high-speed line for itself. The train could travel 150 mph the entire line

    Nice video..

  • @indianrailways haha, good one

  • Why won't the Cali-Neva people just upgrade the tracks and use the acela type trains, wouldnt that be cheaper ? Seems like a good solution to me, except that they don't seem to have any money to do anything now anyway.

  • @NycGuy2011 The freight companies don't want to share their tracks with passengers unless forced to. That's why The Sunset Limited stops at New Orleans instead of going all the way to Florida. The tracks have been re-laid and are now being used but passenger trains are not allowed. :(

  • lol at 0:27

  • can't wait going on one of those in April

  • whats the air horn, nathan K5?

  • Cool :-D

  • I think this is your best video yet! Nice job with the transitions and the different angles are great!

  • TGV straight from France?

  • Is this Canton?

  • Impressive. I've been checking a few train vids and speed compares well to fast British trains like watch?v=1lSYDbYrXIo

A lot faster than anything we have around here. But 350+mph TGVs are something else1

Loved your snow tunnel vid. TU :-)

  • @HughFromAlice kph not mph ... they're still trains after all ... not jets ... and yes, they won't be very soon in US ... and yes, west haven't upgraded to bicycles yet ...but they heard about tgv's .... lol

  • Just out of interest, what voltage and if AC or DC ?

  • @ERNIEMAC2 25K AC.

  • @nyshortline

    Thanks !

Do the locos use modern variable frequency motors yet ? Maybe only on powered train sets ?

Mortdale Station, Sydney ,Australia- Double Deck 1500V DC

  • Great take !

I guess with a properly constructed high speed line, these trains would really FLY !

    Thanks,

  • There shurley is a good reason for that sign at 0:18!

  • Very cool, great shots, thanks for sharing

  • cool vid ! Greetings from Poland !

  • Lol...can't stop watchin 0:27 and 1:42...reminds me of the Road Runner

  • 3 seconds to fully cross you!!

  • omg i love the part where the train speeds past the danger sign.

  • What type of horn is that?

  • What a video. Those trains are flying.

  • You know, u certainly have 'the touch' you are excellent! keep it up. geoff.

  • the pacific northwest is getting a hsr,

  • you would me red mist for sure!

  • Acela needs help from Japanese counterparts.

Shinkansen 500 series tops at 200mph, cruises at 186 mph. Looks very pretty too.

  • @TheJohancha86 the acela is capable of goin up to 200mph, but is restricted to 150 till the line gets upgraded, idk but the jr700 looks like a duck... and i think the acela is the hottest train around... mayb except the tgv

  • It is not really fast! But, it still fastest in US but not in the world!

  • Comment removed

  • 1:13 looks like 50 mph really..

  • Its 80

  • oh,looks pretty slow..

  • Faster than your brain anyway

  • i wasn't talkin to you man so don't talk to me human....

  • Human rascal you mean? How do you know I am human?

  • i wasn't talkin to you man.

  • How do you know he is a man?

  • man....

  • Ha Ha! The video's length is 1:50 long, the same number for the acela's speed! Good job! :)

  • very good video

  • Great vid ty,i'm just surprized that the acela would be traveling through Rhode Island .

  • The NEC doesn't cut right through towards MA, instead it stays more toward the coast and through RI.

  • California and Nevada are getting their high speed train similar to this accept, they will be faster than the Acela Express

  • Oh, so now its Nevada too? I like all of the nonsense coming out of the west lately, from the looks of it, they arent getting anything considering their state is pretty much bankrupt. So, it will be a while.

  • Haha, true dat. The west won't be having high speed rail for years and years.

  • @AmtrakFanNEC927 In addition Caltrain (also in California) is thinking of going electric, doubt it though, Caltrain is on the verge of bankruptcy, they even had to get rid of some trains from the timetable.

  • @AmtrakFanNEC927 California IS getting HSR, however, Nevada is NOT. Nevada is getting what I predict will be a failure like all its' predecessors, a train from *I think* Barstow, to Las Vegas...

  • @AmtrakFanNEC927 Wrong.....They are building only in CA and its being built now

  • @AmtrakFanNEC927 soon or sooner those trains will lose the cables be better without them

  • @sideslide23 ya but there gonna update the whole northeast corridor replacing the acelas and aem7 and hhps

  • @sideslide23 Acela wouldn't even be HSR by most countries' standards. It's a shame that there is only two parts on whole line that gets up to 150...and 150 is child's play compared to what the other trains are pushing in Europe and Japan. So the Northeasterners on here thinking they are all that because they have HSR is fucking bullshit because it isn't even real HSR. With California, we have a chance to start from scratch and build it RIGHT. NOT build it on some 100 year old shitty corridor.

  • @PanzerVIZeke there going to need is a Jacobson LF3800 Tractor mowers to fix te 100 year old corridor.

  • @PanzerVIZeke Well isn't that special.

  • @LoneNutter1 I know, right? It's going to be even more special when California ends up being the only state with true HSR. :P

  • @PanzerVIZeke You have to get it built first so don't get too excited.

  • @sideslide23 except, not accept. you accept a gift, or accept a job.

  • @sideslide23 will they use the trainsets as well?

  • @jfsa380 the trainsets would be the Velaro high speed rail made from Siemens the most successful high speed train in the world with more than 160 trains operating in four countries on two continents. innovative and adaptable, the Velaro is the perfect fit for America's Future HSR. California, Desert Xpress, and the midwest.

  • @jfsa380 they will use the Velaro a high speed train built by siemens.

  • @sideslide23 I just searched that and they are UGLY compared to the Acela expresses. I don't know why they can't just use the same type.

  • Great video!

    I have a question.

What kind of camera do you use? I love the way your videos look and I'm about to invest in a new camera.

    Thank you

    Kyle

  • Its a sony HD handycam

  • I saw the Corridor Clipper earlier that day in Guilford.

  • It wasnt the corridor clipper, it was the presidents car

  • Oh, the train was obstructed by trees and I saw what I assumed was the Corridor Clipper, but I guess not.

  • Excellent audio/visual - 5*

  • Very good !

  • Great angle there at the end!

When I see how nice and new the NEC is north of New Haven, it's really frustrating to remember how deteriorated the NEC infrastructure is on the southern end. We still have the old Pennsy caternary system which has been in service over 75 years, and it's really showing its age.

  • Great video I really gotta go up to KIN and railfan a little.

  • lol 150MPH and ur video is 1:50 long

  • Lmao i didnt even realize, thats pretty good. :)

  • yea

  • Thanks! But it wasnt, it needed 1 more toot.

  • Amazing hornshows from those third and fourth Acelas!

  • Thanks man!!! I know!! I also caught the corridor clipper.

  • No problem man

  • Great video!
