@Nanya - no, he did not. He let it die saying he was sending it back to the legislature to implement without studying it. It's just a buck-passing exercise.
I always thought taking on the money mafia in new york and their federal reserve was too ambitious. Setting up public banks, state by state, is much more realistic.
I wish I had found your site sooner. You are just about the only one to help others see the TRUTH of what is going on. Thank you so much for your time and talents in waking-up those seeking the TRUTH of finance and government. Kepp up the great work my friend! Peace.
This video is a great explanation for the value or importance of the states having each their own state banks. There's much more about the topic, but what I've looked at were mostly articles, including several by Ellen Brown at globalresearch[dot]ca, wherre she has an index of articles under Authors. For videos, I've viewed The Money Masters produced by Bill Still and, I believe, some other individuals; plus having listened to a number of Youtube videos with Gerald Celente and some others..
There is a media blackout on this. I didn't even know how close we were to having a state bank! All he ash to do is sign! I have linked and forwarded this video to everyone. Also subscribed. Glad I found you account.
what are the downsides of not having "independent" monetary policy? That is, would control of the central bank by state government officials present new risks? Would this leave the door open for government to spend without restraint?
That putrid polluted political dinosaur, Jeffry Brown, will most assuredly veto this bill. Why? It's because the vast majority of career politicians are absolute low-lifes.
since i can't insert the weblink into a comment, you can put the link in the description area of the video. I will do my best to put out a call to action to my fellow Californians.
My only problem with the Bank of North Dakota is that it could be used to control which foods are grown on the land. My main focus of political activism is towards a reform of agriculture and promoting biodiverse markets not so much for export but mostly local consumption.
Maybe a premature congratulations Bill, but if this passes in California this could be very well the tipping point to cure our financial ills. Well done my friend.
Surprised that theres no comments here. Im gonna mirror this in the hope that i get it some extra views it otherwise wouldnt get. Im not a Californian resident or even a resident of the US but im tempted to write myself.
the bankers would like nothing more that to collect hidden taxes through interest directly from the people an almost bottomless resource. seems to me the concept of having a private bank lend to the state is nothing more than feudalism.
Thanks Bill. I live in CA and did not know about this. I will keep a lookout for it now. Love your backdrop as it reminds me of how pretty this country is. Love your reports.

Just called Governor Brown's office! His staff took my message encouraging him to sign the bill, and they indicated that the bill is on his desk awaiting a signature. FYI: Governor Brown has until October 9, 2011 to sign the bill, and we need EVERYONE to call and ask him to sign the bill!!!!!!
Two more things to help the middle class are to end unions and to end the minimum wage. It may seem like an oxymoron, but if you allow wages to relative and be compared to one another fairness will result. For example, would you rather be a airplane pilot for $30 per hour or a flight attendant for $30 per hour. At first glance you would say flight attendant. But, look at the job description. The pilot does not have to deal with guest or clean-up or push a drink cart. Let the market decid.

I do support the Bank of California as stated here to save California $5 billion a year, however it does nothing to protect the middle classes money lost to the ravages of inflation caused by Federal government deficit spending. If you get 5% interest from a bank, you will be losing 10% to inflation.
A solution you should look into is "full" reserve banking. Where the bank does not lend money, like a mutual bank or stock account. BTW, I never heard of Vanguard or Etrade failing.
I am a Canadian, and am not 100% clear about the system here. I believe the Bank of Canada is a national bank. Mackenzie King nationalized the bank in an effort to take the money creation power away from a private corporation. Can you either explain or put out a video about Canada's banking system, and whether it needs reform or not? Some sources claim Canada's banking system is the soundest in the world. Is that true?
This a potentially great idea. If nothing else, it's a step away from our current system, which fails us terribly--and all too often. My only (small) concern is that if states faced no interest charges, it might encourage even MORE spending.
This is great news. And where goes California, so goes the nation. If Calif. actually sets this up, you would see a wave of similar state-run banks begin to roll like a tsunami ... except that this tsunami would benefit people, rather than destroy them as the The Fed does.
Nice vid. Everything I’ve done the past 2 years has been an exercise in educating myself despite circumstances: the criminality of my nation w/ regard to its banking, insurance, war-making and evidence-concealing—I never investigated this earlier, as I’m an American, and our consumerism teaches us to obsess about ourselves. Private central banking just sells you wardrobes of “invisible” silk coats in the freezing winter, turning our populace of "emperors" into mountains of icy naked corpses.
It was a good effort. But of course He did not sign it.

BILL NUMBER: AB 750 VETOED DATE: 09/26/2011
To the Members of the California State Assembly:
I am returning Assembly Bill 750 without my signature.
This bill would mandate yet another "blue ribbon" task force: in this
case to examine whether California should establish a state bank.
This is a matter well within the jurisdiction and competence of the
Assembly and Senate Banking Committees.
Rather than creating a new entity, let's use the resources we have.
Sincerely,
Edmund G. Brown Jr.
