There were like only VERY few people I liked in this remake; and they are: Carlos Santana, Tony Bennett, Jennifer Hudson (She sounded like she didn't use Autotune, I think), and Jeff Bridges and Vince Vaughn because they're awesome actors. Other than that, I hate this remake and they shouldn't have f***ed with the original, which someone in this remake (I believe it was Jay-Z) said the 1985/original We are the World was/is UNTOUCHABLE.
OMFG....I never actually heard this song, but just knowing who sung it, I knew it was absolute SHIT. Now that I have heard it, I can conclude it is a piece of shit, publicity stunt, bubblegum ass, fake wanna be song that has nothing but shitty artists trying to seem important to the rest of the world.
If I was Quincy Jones, I would kick out all the WATW Haiti crew (except Wycleff Jean because he is from Haiti and I would be glad to let him mourn his country in the song). And I would hire band members like Win Butler and Regine Chassagne (Arcade Fire), Matthew Bellamy (Muse), Dolores O'Riordan (The Cranberries), Tarja Turunen (former Nightwish), Sharon Den Adel (Within Temptation), Flyleaf, Linkin Park, Metallica or again Korn. As for the rapping part, I would replace it with metal Grunts!
2:43 you make a good point! There was no need for that. He shouldn't have been in it. To be honest, you make good points in all of this. Except for Celine Dion, I think she was amazing. But the rest is crap. I found this very funny *liked*
@JoeMamaNewAccount You kind of are. You said we shouldn't help Haiti because it's still gonna be horrible after we donate money to it. That's being against the cause even if you meant to say we need to help America first. The fact of the matter is that America is in much better shape than Haiti. It's pretty obvious which one needs more urgent help.
@VideogamingVideos ok. I can see where you are coming from. This is supposed to be about the song, anyway. So, what do you think of my points on the song?
@JoeMamaNewAccount I agree about the song. I don't like it. For one, I think it puts too much focus on just Haiti. I'm not against helping Haiti or anything. I just think the song should be about helping everyone in the world who is less fortunate and is having problems, not just the Haitians. That's my main problem with the song. With the original, though it was created to help Africa it really did work universally. Not so much with this one since they repeatedly mention Haiti in the lyrics.
@VideogamingVideos ya. i agree. I, for one, LOVE the original. Too many great artists for me to hate it. Steve Perry, Ray Charles, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Huey Lewis, and Bob Dylan! It's practically impossible for ME to hate it.
@JoeMamaNewAccount I like the whole message of the first one and it has tons of great artists, but I just don't like the song for some reason. It just doesn't click with me. It's not a "bad" song. I understand why people love it. I just can't get in to it. But I do for sure like it better than this one.
@VideogamingVideos I dont really like it for the message, just for the overall sound. Don't get me wrong, the message is great, but I get chills everytime I hear Huey Lewis say "But, if we just believe, there's no way we can fall!"
@JoeMamaNewAccount I'm not talking about the pictures in the background. I'm talking about what you said (or typed, I guess). What you basically said is that we shouldn't be spending money on a country (Haiti) when even after we donate the country will still be "shit". That the country is pretty much beyond repair now. And that instead we should spend our money to fix the problems in America first and ignore Haiti. That sounds pretty anti-helping Haiti to me.
I don't really like the song, or the original for that matter, but it's kinda funny how you said you're bashing the song, not the cause but put in the part at 3:13 which completely negates that and IS bashing the cause. Just sayin...

I so agree the orginal was inspiring, while this remake sounds like a cross over between someone with organisms and a kid with Down syndrome

I wonder what people would say if they got rid of the autotune and Justin Bieber.

When I heard they were redoing the song, I thought "all right, cool, that ought to get some money for charity. So who's doing it?"
As soon as I saw "Justing Beiber" I started screaming at the top of my lungs.

I agree. I hate the original
