  • @kkonkkrete I can't really find much info about serge modulars, where can you buy them? Do they even make new ones?

  • i am looking everywhere to no avail, where did u get these from!?

  • @Musiccalculater sound transform systems, they do not have a website but you can call Rex Probe on 262 367 3030 who will be happy to speak to you for hours on end about serge synths!

  • Very impressive, just show's what can be done with small system and good ideas

  • you don´t bored, do you? very nice sounds

  • What did you pay for this....I spoke with rex about 6 mo's ago but dont wanna call just for a price....great video...thanx for uploading....great patches

  • Whoa, I definitely need this monster! Why does the exact musical gadget I am looking for have to cost so much? Sometimes reality sucks. Nevertheless, I remain a huge fan of both this synthesizer and reality. Hopefully, I can get one at some point.

  • Hey, got my Creature/Seq A combo...I got the sequencer cycling, but without any pitch produced...any suggestions regarding a few seq to creature patches so that I can hear the pitch produced by the 8-16 knobs...John

  • @potterpaint2000 Congratulations! Patch the SEQ A out to the V/OCT in on the TGO. Then take the red output on the left side of the TGO straight to the XFade, with the gain turned up. Tune the frequency of the TGO with the knob to reach audible range. You should hear the pitch sequence coming out of the Xfade. It doesn't get much simpler than that :-)

  • Thanks so much...could you share any patches if possible?...John

  • I'll be ordering mine soon!...same configuration!

  • @potterpaint2000 Sweet! Congratulations, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Why not stop by the Quadslope forum and say hello, if you haven't already. They are a great community of Mad-as-Hatters Serge enthusiasts. :-)

  • What is the size of each unit? They look quite small.

  • How long was the wait time to get these great units built?; are they still a source of sonic surprize?

  • @potterpaint2000 Size is about 17" wide by 4U high. They come in different cases. This is the shallower 'transit' case. Wait time is variable: anything from a day to a couple of months depending on what Rex has in stock. I suggest you just call Rex. He's a blast to talk to and can answer all your questions and then some.

  • nice...is there a separate power supply?

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!...is there a separate power supply or transformer needed?

  • @potterpaint2000 Yeah, this thing needs regulated power supplied over a roughly brick-sized PSU, which comes with a banana socket for grounding other gear. The PSU is switchable 120 / 230 V.

  • Beautiful - a work of art.

  • This is awesome

  • Wow, I feel really dirty after watching those last twenty seconds or so.....the way you tease it with your banana jacks. Naughty, naughty.

  • Super! Yes the drones are really nice!

  • wow. that dronepatch is really amazing. kinda stars of the lid-ish....i can listen to this for hours :)

  • @kolloterror, what song by "stars of the lid" does this remind you of?

  • go go crackles and fluid!

    5/5

  • This demonstration shows the real potential of the M-panel class!

  • I agree with the folks that enjoyed your droning patches. I'd love for you to post a longer composition of those beautiful tones. Great video! A little something for everyone!

  • how much does a serge animal cost

  • The best is to call Rex Probe of Sound Transform Systems on (262) 367-3030 and ask directly.

  • @MincentValloy rex is amazing, it's right of passage to talk to him.

it's the most relaxed i've been in building and talking about a system.

  • Finally someone who knows how to program something other than ugly random noise. Hard to tell what synths can do when people don't know how to program them.

That drone patch is very Fripp & Eno...and that's a big compliment.

    Thanks for this!

  • wow!

  • Best Serge video around. Convinced me to take the plunge!

  • i AGREE, ITS FANTASTIC!

difficult getting hold of serge stuff int he uk though, which is a shame.

  • LLLOOOV V V EEE the patch between 5:00-5:10. I could listen to a very slow sweep of that patch for 20 minutes straight. Love the "drone tone" in the beginning as well, though at 0:48 and 0:57 it gets a little annoying.

  • This is the first Serge modular demo on youtube that I actually LOVE the sound of it!

Probably the Rolls Royce of synthesizers.

  • Just put one up. Cheers!

  • Love it!

  • me too, when's the next video?

  • Probably the best Serge video currently on youtube :)

Are you planning on getting more modules?

  • thanks everyone! Next module will probably be an Animal or a Soup Kitchen ...

  • Hello, great video and great synth, I've posted this video on switchedonsynthesizer.blogspot . com

  • Sounds excellent!

  • nice!!

  • damnit I have to buy the creature asap... ;)
