I can think of a couple instances where it's a good idea to take newborns away from their mothers, 1. If she's physically incapable of taking care of them and 2. This one I personally experienced, the mother is too stupid to be able to take care of her kittens. I'm not kidding, my aunt has (I don't know if it's still alive or not) a cat that had kittens but didn't know how to take care of them, both appropriately and ironically, my aunt named the mother Dumb Shit, seriously, that's her name.
