As terrible as the oil spill is, I think it's heartwarming to see such devotion and love from a legislator. For so many years, all we've done is point fingers, tarnish each others' reputations, complain and instigate domestic conflict. We treat each other so badly, but maybe in times of crisis, some of us can find a sense of camaraderie.
This oil spill, has been nothing but a fucking shit storm. I don't blame this poor fella for sheading a tear. Our waters will be polluted for generations to come, and the lives ruined by this atrocity are insurmountable.

The part that is the cause of the whole tragedy would have cost BP 500,000$ to safe gaurd. Which they didnt as US legislation doesnt require them too. Until something else is found or created that has the energy potential of fossil fuels the world will continue to use what is available. Oil and coal are relatively cheap by comparison so until they are used up, there won't be anything else to replace them. It may not be ideal but it's what we have in the mean time.

As terrible as the oil spill is, I think it's heartwarming to see such devotion and love from a legislator. For so many years, all we've done is point fingers, tarnish each others' reputations, complain and instigate domestic conflict. We treat each other so badly, but maybe in times of crisis, some of us can find a sense of camaraderie.

The part that is the cause of the whole tragedy would have cost BP 500,000$ to safe gaurd. Which they didnt as US legislation doesnt require them too. Not to mention that the company that was running the rig made money of the oil spill as they were insured.. Beat that.

My whole point here is that a TRULY fascist system demands chaos between parties, and looks to prevent anyone from coming to an agreement. People on both sides being divided so easily, when they actually have much in common, does not bode well for our future.

If someone claims to be
a socialist, but then defies everything that socialism is about, they are not socialists. And "National Socialism" is not the same "Socialism." National Socialism borrows a very small amount from actual Socialism, but when they said "National Socialist", what they meant was "Superior Aryan.". You can say they are the same all day long, but if you actually go look at the dictionary, or wikipedia, or etc, you'll see that's not so. Hitler was concerned with Fascism/Racism

its not like those same billion dollar industries have lobbyists who basically camp out at congress and overlook the bills being passed or anything. its not like congressman generally go on to be lobbyists after they retire.

Their lives pretty much sucked with the average person living to the mid forties if they were lucky. My point is that while you are saying we can just cut the pipe lines and get off oil and other fossil fuels, you are contributing to the problem yourself by using the electricity it takes to be on the internet.

what makes you say their lives sucked? they worked less than we do. they didn't have to rely on slave wages to buy food from others. they were free.
the average age was due to higher infant mortality, and not keeping vegetables on machines - not that they lived shorter.
they also didn't destroy the earth as this culture is doing which has got to be a positive...

My whole point is that unless the entire world population wants to take a huge step backward in social evolution, oil is not going anywhere until it is all used up. It's easy to say we need to stop using oil but it's like saying we need to find a cure for cancer. Saying it accomplishes nothing.

@planktonicorganism Of course I think it would be but what is the solution? To just say we need to stop using oil is not enough. Until something else is found or created that has the energy potential of fossil fuels the world will continue to use what is available. Oil and coal are relatively cheap by comparison so until they are used up, there won't be anything else to replace them. It may not be ideal but it's what we have in the mean time.

the energy potential of oil is wasted.
underarm deoderant, highheel shoes and nose hair pluckers... this is the kind of stuff we can't let go of, the things we are dying for and killing our children for.
we can stop using it. and we will have to at some point. why not be proactive?

No. Oil has been obsolete for almost 70 years! The problem is that the Rockefeller's and their elite cronies own everything and corporations have their hands on a known and proven technology called "ZERO POINT ENERGY". There is lots of information on it from top scientists that are trying to get the word out to the worlds population. Try doing a search for it. It is real energy and does not pollute!

@JakeThanksYou You can't use Zero Point Energy. It does exist yes but it cannot be used, it would violate the laws of thermodynamics which are not to be messed with. Secondly do you enjoy your plastics? Car? Fertilizer? THen you still need oil. Oil is used for all these things. (Fertilizer needs hydrogen which is most abundant in oils and Hydrocarbon Gasses :) A better energy would wind or solar.

@stalker1983 Yes. I agree with you to some extent, however, oil can be synthesized as well. In any case I'm sure we could do with a lot less. There is a lot of high technology available that the secret government does not want out in the population. This would cause them losses in the billions of dollars and they are not about to share any of it with us.

@JakeThanksYou Oil can be synthesized, but there are many oils and Hydrocarbon (HC) gasses and you will always use more energy to create it then you get out. (Reason why using hydrogen isn't going to get off the ground for several years sadly) So it would not be viable for an energy source. I agree that we can do with alot less (Turn of your lights, use public transport, cycle, shorter colder showers etc). As for secret government I dont believe in that but to each their own.:)

It's been known for many years by the elite however, it is "Anti-Gravity" technology. Once this technology gets out into the mainstream, it's over for the big oil companies and they know it. Dr. Steven Greer & many top scientists have been trying to get funding to get a Free Energy system prototype built and operational so they can prove that the technology is real.
