  • Thanks for putting this video up i have 2 disabitles and people will make fun of me and stuff and living with learing disabtiles has it's up's and donws but i am thankful for who i am

  • Hey brother so sorry its so sad but when saw the guy with a great office job I was like exactly that's what its all about

  • thank you for putting this video here,i enjoyed it

  • I have Adhd. Though it's not classified as a disability it still gets made fun of just like disabilities

  • GREAT JOB!! ALL PEOPLE NEEDS TO SEE WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IN GODS EYES WE ARE PERFECT. I HAVE A PERSONAL REASON FOR LIKING THIS VIDEO AND I AM SHARING IT.

  • What a totally patronising video.

I have a Disability, I am a wheelchair user. I have a child, a partner, education and I live independantly. I am not brave, I am certainly not 'SPECIAL'

The word special when used to describe someone with a Disabiltiy is highly offensive.

I would be mortified if anyone thought of me as the way you have portrayed Disabled people here.

Disabled Children don't want a video made for them highlighting their differences. They want to be treated normally.

  • Buddy I hope you dont mind, me sharing this video in my social networking channels with the following comment, "Disability is not a disease of the individual. Its in our mind, which makes us think, the person is disabled. These are people with special needs. Look and behave with them, just like any other person like us.". Do let me know if you have reservations. I wanted to promote the cause.

  • I am a person...A disabled person, and proud of it, my impairment and experience are both strands of my diversity. I don't see that as secondary or even last..vocal loud disabled and proud! We wouldn't say a woman or a black person is a woman/black as secondary? Some nice images but the messages need really thinking about, what are we saying about disability which really is created by social attitudes and environment towards difference and diversity! Thanks for the opportunity to comment.

  • Thanks for posting this video! Thank you for showing that although physically and mentally disabled people may seem different, they really aren't. They're just like the rest of us. They are so sweet and a blessing to have in life! :)

  • Thank you so much doing disability awareness for people with disabilities . I am a disabled teen with Hemiplegia Cerebral Palsy. I was diagnosed at 11 months-16 years old. I love my Wulf, Schwartz, Omaha JCC Ballet Best Friends on Mondays & Thursdays & Madonna School.

  • We prove the truth of that song at VSA.

  • im making a three minute documentary on disability. im going to be posting it on youtube soon. im in a wheelchair myself. this was a college project i did, most of it by myself and i got a family member to star in it. :D more and more disabled people are being bullied in schools. i was. and i have spina bifida as well mattywheels23.

  • That it beautiful. Very inspiring. Love the song too.

  • Awesome vid for sure. I have spina bifida so this vid touches a place deep within. Excellent work

  • I can't stand it when people make fun of others who have disabilities. My adopted sister Michelle is physically challenged and my other adopted sister Lisa is slightly mentally challenged. Woe betide anyone who makes fun of them while I'm around. Once when we were at the mall, two teenagers walking behind Lisa said, "Hey, let's hit the retard" and hit her in the back for no reason!!!! We blasted them out.

  • Would you mind if i link this video into my college project? It's a project pn equality and diversity. I've chosen disability as I think it's one issue that needs to be highlighted as something that people dont have the right to discriminate against

  • No, problem! It would be an honor for me, to have a video of mine featured on a college project.

  • thanks hun xx

il put a link to it in the presentation then xx

il even send yuu a copy if you want, so you can have a look lol <3

  • this video is wonderful!, what is this song called?

  • this vid almost brings me to tears. My cuzin is mentally challenged and i love it when he does all these activities and events and the doctors told my aunt that he wasnt gonna make it. hes a fighter and a hero to me.

  • I have autism. The title "heavens special children" really irritates me. The term "special" really offends me. People use terms like "special" and "handycapeable"(another term that irritates the hell out of me) when they don't want to be offensive. Well those terms offend me more than deliberately offensive terms like retard and cripple. People should ask US what terms we prefer rather than using terms that non disabled people tell them are the correct terms for "those kinds of people".

  • it makes me sick that the good comments got thumbs down but the bad ones got thumbs up grrr!!!

  • this made me cry..but not out of sadness but out of happiness. these children are adorable! it pains me to see that people even adults will laugh and crack jokes, when these children are already insecure about themselves and look up to those adults. i know. i've lived it..because of my disability. and i'm still living in it..it will never stop..but i gotta move on.

want to say, that you did a nice job with this video!.

    MILLION KUDOS TO YOU! lol

  • Yes!Awareness and Independence to be Free, but also Dignity,Respect and Love!!!

  • I like this video because it focuses on the ability of the person and not on their cheelchair or other aids. This is very well put, put the person first.

  • This is a nice video that I would like to share with a class about disability awareness. To whoever wrote that horrible comment full of disrespect. I hope that you will see the light some day. I am truly sorry for you.

  • awesome video=)

  • Wow!!!!!

  • Thanks, it means alot when people comment

  • this is a great video whoever adds mean comments here are idiots i hate you.

  • your sick sk8king69

  • I think that this video it just great. I have created a video about what its like living with a disability. I would really appricate it if you would check it out and let me know what you think about it.

    Marty

  • Very Awesome!

  • Thank you, comments are much appreciated!

  • This video should be removed... "Ahh poor little disabled children! Don't you think that this is a bit patronising? Disabled people don't need sympathy or charity as they just want to get on with their lives and be treated like everyone else".

    I can't agree more!!

  • I don't understand, are you insulting this video or are you complementing it?

  • Ahh poor little disabled children! Don't you think that this is a bit patronising? Disabled people don't need sympathy or charity as they just want to get on with their lives and be treated like everyone else. I am in a position to say this because I am a disabled person (vision impaired) and I don't need a pat on the back. Also, in the UK the word retarded is seen to be offensive even though I know that it's widely used in the US.

  • I'm not patronising. I have multiply handicapped, both mentally and physically. I made this when I was having a really tough time at school when no one understood me.

  • Thank you so much for putting this video out for the world!

    *kisses*

    Therese

  • Loved your video. Bless the children. Spread the love. And peace.

    JM (Alix's dad)

  • Yep that's what I'm trying to do. Thanks for the comment

  • I hate the entire film. What I hated the most was the kid and the 1970's wood-paneled tv.What was that supposed to symbolize?

  • Multiple personality disorder

  • Excuse me?!? What did you say?

  • Did you see that there was 3 kids total, multiple personalitys.

  • I am sorry. I thought you were talking about me.

  • I completely agree with the point of the video, but fucking hell, the music is like something from southpark.

  • Actually it's from the pokemon TV show soundtrack and I would appreciate that you would kindly watch your language.

  • Wa No. That's all I have to say.

  • I'm sorry I don't understand, what do you mean?

  • He isn't into dating, relationships, sports or beer, give him his Rugrats, Teletubbies, or Sesame Street any day or his electronics and he is happy. Often people won't hire him because of his disability and I think that is just wrong, he is able to fix things, if these stupid employers would just give him a chance and don't put him in situations where there would be problems, and he could make very good for himself,
  • Some people think he is

"retarded", as he does display very

    child like behaviour especially when

in situations he cannot handle, but

get him in front of a broken radio or

tv, and I watch him work his magic.

  • I have a friend who had a heat stroke

when he was 15, it made him not all grown

up inside, at times he is like a 7 year

old boy and other times he shows more

intelligence such as when he does things

that he is talented in such as fixing

radios and televisions, this is his

    ability.

  • yea yea, great! some more stuff i can use for class!

  • Huh?... This isn't for a school project and if it is please give me credit. This was something I made

  • I have learning disabilities myself. People assume i'm stupid. I just learn slower and differently.

  • Yup, been there, done that. This is my 1st year in high school, I am a sophomore and I am in special ed all day, no mainstream stuff. I'm always a shout away if you need it!

  • Thank you so much for putting this video it is so good video that shows the truth in life. People show us like we are worst than we are.

  • You hit the nail on the head, thats what this video is about, I'm also going to be writting a letter to a candidate running for MN's state senator, proposing a national education on mental disability day

  • I have mild mental retardation and was diagnosed when i was very little with mental retardation, I been bullied, abuse, kicked, and etc...

  • I was feeble minded when i was a kid, I don't know how I snapped out it but I knew going to Jr. High acting like a 6 year old wouldn't get me too far, thanks for the comment

  • Thank you for this! I hate the number of "comedy" videos on here that poke fun of the Mentally Retarded. It's not comedy, it's real life for so many, and making fun of it is no different than racism. My youngest son is Mentally Retarded.

  • My mom would seriously run around and scream at people who dared to mess with me, thanks for the comment

  • I admire you for speaking up.

    *kisses*

    Therese

  • I really like this vid.. i can realte in a way becasue my brother has a mental disability

  • Thank you, I have mental disabilitys myself and was always ridiculed as a child. Thank you so much for the review
