@tedbearify Actually,this is Ricci Benson on lead vocals. Gwen Dickey was long and gone in early 1980. This song was from Rose Royce's "Music Magic" in 1984. Great work indeed.

Man do I remember this song. I am from Brooklyn and I enlisted in the army in 1982. I was also djaying in my spare time, but when this song came out and I got wind of it, I wanted to go AWOL in the worst way. I was in my early 20's and wanted to be back on the block grooving to this classic hit.
