  • Been singing this song all day. So had to fire up my old harley go for a ride. Awsome song!

  • Despare not my hard/outlaw country fans look beyond what Nashville offer you. Look at your local and regional bands. And follow those nationally known country artists who are blacklisted from Nashville for their sound or politics. Find your own muiscal way like the independent and self-reliant Americans I know you to be.

  • I saw this guy perform at the White Buffalo Bike Festival in Snyder Texas. Awesome guy!

  • @jam6va I remember that show quite well cause we didn't have cable out in the country lol Great show and there were a ton of awesome artists on there :)

  • this was such a great song

  • This whole album was damn good!!

  • Used to be a live country music show I beleive on ABC called "On the Road".

This song was the theme song.

Used to be one of the few ways to see live music when we lived in the boonies with no cable or access to CMT!

  • the song is the best from the 90s on the road it should have went to number one,but the song went to number 3 on the charts

  • LMAO, washud up dipshit

  • @tngerman Why yes....tngerman.....you probably ARE a "washud up dipshit"

  • Lee roy Parnell is or was one of the best talents ever. A gifted artist who could kick ass or lay down a soft ballad. A real blessing to american music

  • I love this song.. I couldnt remember what it was called for the longest time..

  • one of the best songs of the 90s

  • Great song, great video. Today's country music just doesn't compare to the greats like Parnell, Whitley, Mattea, and all those I grew up to.

  • This song did the same thing for country music what Tom Petty's "Runnin' Down A Dream" did for Classic Rock. It gave it a great driving song, and a helacious guitar solo!

  • lee roy parnell kicked and still kicks ass compered to any new shit so to those who say's any negative comments about lee roy parnell...lets see you go and right songs and make meaning out of them and i'll kiss your as

  • THIS WAS REAL COUNTRY MUSIC. TODAYS COUNTRY MUSIC IS NOT REAL COUNTRY MUSIC!

  • best Lee Roy Parnell song EVER! (Right after "Tender Moment") :)

  • Too bad Lee Roy faded in popularity, right, gang? He hit #6 in Billboard, 11-20-93. God bless!

  • This song makes me want to leave everything behind and drive around great country of USA.

  • This is one of the BEST country songs EVER made....This song was the theme song for the American version of the TV show ''On the Road'' that aired back in the early ninties.

  • everytime i heard this song at home on the radio i went for a ride

  • @tubxyoob well quit listening you dumbass!

  • @tubxyoob Why don't you look him up and see what he's done and who he has worked with. He was one of THE best slide guitar players ever. He influenced a lot of people. All the TALENTED guys in Nashville think this guy is one of the best. IF your gonna piss on him, back it up with something credible.

  • @tubxyoob dick!

  • Great songs and it was when the camera didnt have to love you.....and when your marketing team didnt determine your career. When you where a musician and you could sing!

  • love this song...brings back lots of memories!!!! good ones

  • Lee Roy Parnell, Collin Raye, Vince Gill..... yep, it was a great sound. Saw Vince at the Hollywood Bowl for the July 4th show..... better than ever! Lee Roy is at the Hardrock Cafe, Nashville, Oct, Nov & Dec.

  • Man this brings back memories lol.

  • great song~! brings back memories!

  • Man, does this song bring back great memories! I was singing this song at karaoke one night, and little did I know Lee Roy himself was in the crowd. He bought me a round afterwards. Hell of a human being as well as a great country artist!

  • Too funny! I always thought he seemed like he'd be a super nice guy in person, not sure why, since i only know him from his albums and his videos, but he seems like he'd be really cool.

  • A great song, from an excellent artist and musician. Hartley C.

  • This is the song that got me listening to more country music. I caught parts of it a few times on a local radio station and thought it was Jackson Browne, but knew that station probably wouldn't play Jackson Brown. I kept listening for it to find out who did the song and really started to appreciate more country songs. Thanks Lee Roy for opening my eyes and ears to your talent.

  • Love this song! Does anyone remember the 90's national radio show called "On the Road"? This was their theme song. It was the best!!!

  • @sisernie yep i remember, cmt also had a show called on the road. This is one of Leroys greatest songs.I'm a trucker and I love this song!

  • Yes, and CMT also had an hour TV show by the same name! Loved the show!

  • Its like the best parts of the Eagles with blues guitar and a fantastic voice. The best things country music used to be.....

  • This is one of those songs you never forget.

  • I used to hear this song a lot when I was a kid and even after years of not hearing it, I still had it in my head.

  • The early 90s was a great time for country music. I really miss these songs.

  • @randyfloyd07 I agree! I was a young boy in the early 90s remembering the great artists on CMT. Quality songwriting, singing, and it was REAL COUNTRY MUSIC. Not fake, like today with a fake twang. I miss this stuff.

  • @randyfloyd07

Agreed. The 90s were MUCH better than nowadays.

  • @randyfloyd07 , AMEN I TOTALLY AGREE! :)

  • Its a heart break they have not noticed him. he has so much talent it is mind boggling.

    Miss you Lee roy.

  • Another good tune!!!!! Boy can he really play that guitar!!!!!

  • This song brings back memories of my seventh grade summer. Gee, that was 13 years ago.

  • Oh god yes, I was about in 7th grade when this song was out, fantastic!

  • I don't remember what grade I was in, but I remember I was little.

I miss all the songs from the 90's.

    90's country was real country.

  • You are so right, that was some great music.

  • Me too. 90's country is my favorite.

  • Easily, one of my favorite country songs of all time. I graduated high school in 1993, so this song takes me back to my youth!

  • dang right. parnell is awesome. this new crap today called country and worth listenin to. 91-93 had the best country.

  • Yes, back when country music was good - Parnell was awesome

  • Sure reminds me when I was a single man and a legend in my day. Now I'm happily married with a beautiful young daughter that was born shortly after this video came out. Don't know for sure how I came across this video but its awsome as ever, got me toe tapping and smiling from this time in my life. Thanks...

  • He could make that guitar talk, lol.

    Love this song!!

  • OH I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • Man, Leroy could hit some rifts on that guitar!

  • i was around 18 when this song came out. brings back some good memories.

  • I rem. when this song was BIG!

I was about 3 & they played this song alot.

    I don't know how I know that.

  • This is real country music, how I miss this kind of sound.Today, country music is a piece of crap.

  • true.

    today's country is pop.

  • hell yea it is. this song is about as good as you can get, and it would be SHUN if it were released today. too much air space reserved for jessica simpson

  • mega-classic

  • classic :)

  • DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN WATCH LEE ROY'S WHAT KIND OF FOOL VIDEO???????

    lol

if not can someone please upload it:)

  • I don't think there's a vid for it here, but I think some one made a vid using the song.

  • I don't know if he made a video for it, but that is an awesome song.

  • I'm only 12 but i know this song off by heart, my dad used to sing this when he was in his band, it is my favourite song ever, even if it did come out many years before i was born. I love this song so much!

  • i meant a few years before i was born.

  • kool. I was 3 when this song came out.

  • He is a great. I must admit as a teenage girl, I had a crush on him.

  • Love this song.

  • Now this is good country music.

  • Isn't it though, love the song

  • Leroy was underrated as hell back in the day..

He was far better then the credit that he was given.

  • AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH, BACK IN THE DAY....lol. I think Lee Roy Parnell's problem was that he dared to stick his axe outside the 'Nashville Box'....but you're right, he SHREDDED!!!

  • I used to just get infuriated....he'd just be gettin' stretched out, and it'd be time for the ride-out...always wished this one in particular would have lasted for about another 3 minutes. Good song, though.

  • He was talented x three: fabulous songwriter, pitch-perfect singing voice, and kick-ass guitar player. Of course, this was back in the early '90s when someone fresh and original like this could still get airplay. Sad to say, if he were just starting out now, he couldn't get ten minutes of airplay on modern country radio. It's all about cheekbones and straight, white teeth, and biceps and looking good in cowboy hat. Having talent is almost beside the point.

  • You are 100% correct. I haven't listened to "country" music in over 10 years.

  • 15 years for me. I just got back into it lately after hearing an old Merle tune.
