  • In 2004 I got my first computer with the Windows 98 of course it was then already an old operating system, and this game I was 10 years old, they were really nice time. Wing Commander Prophecy was a great game, as well as other wingcommanders. just went through the WC3. xD

  • This was one of my favorite games, and I also though the same thing when I saw Star Trek, looked eerily similar.

  • Always hated those annoying lines crossing the screen

  • Im having problems playing this game. The cinematics are speed up. looks like speedy gonzales speaking.

Is there a way to fix it?

  • I stil have this game and it WORKS :D

  • Fun memories of this gamer. Very impresssive cinematics.

  • The 1st Lieutenant is a weak actress...Didn't convince me to be a soldier!

  • OOOrh the Memories !

  • Oorh me memories :D

  • In the subtitles somebody says..... Never mind priest

  • You've got to love that interlacing...

  • If I recall the story correctly EA and Chris Roberts had a major falling out over the wing commander series. Would it be great for a wing 6 yes however its been nearly 15 years since the last one. gotta wait and see

  • alll intros just epic !!!! better than the movie.....and i think its better than star trek !!!!

i miss the game but i play mass effect and the alien in the game part 2 lock like the aliens in the end from wing commander....anyway ! i love wc 3-5 it was the best game ever and i hope for a remake with MARK and BIFF !!!!

  • I would NEVER take orders from a woman. Stilleto is a lesbo. LOL

  • We want wing commander 6, 7 and 8! now

  • EA LISTEN! THIS MESSAGE IS FOR U: we know that your plan is to destroy all good games! BUT I PROPHECY U THAT in 50 years your all age will be over! hahahhahaha:))) all over:)

  • ....Prophecy would go onto be (till date) the LAST game/big entry in the series......makes you wonder will E.A EVER launch the franchise for the 360/PS3 generation????

  • @yuvraj01 Consoles are where the money is at, so there is a higher probability of a relaunch besides Arena for the console market.

  • @yuvraj01 Lets not forget about PC this series was based on the PC. Imagine WC6 running on DX11 etc at the highest settings with excellent detail.

  • @Hekynn *Drool* That would be so freakign awesome. I really wish they made more games like Wing commander and Freespace. They had this scope of vastness, but it was still YOU doing your best and actually having an impact.

  • @yuvraj01 Wing commander: Arena can be downloaded from the XBox live store, & Wing Commander 4 : the price of freedom can be downloaded from the Playstation store for PS3 & PSP.

  • great game, can't believe they pulled the 'Romulan Ale' gag though...Also I never understood why two doofuses like Casey and Maestro weren't thanking their lucky stars they were assigned to the Midway...

  • they did a really awesome job with the music in this game...

when the guy mentions kn'thrak (1:24) it gets scary, also the in-game musics were awesome (especially the third CD)

  • This was a great game!

  • great game but i think the bluescreen-scenes from 3 and 4 look better

  • IIRC Wing Commander 4 actually used real sets which is why its cinematics look better. It looks like Prophecy's cut scenes were also made up of real sets in some shots.

  • I have this for the GBA, but have never seen the footage before (or the PC gameplay.) This should be a treat.

I chose Coolhand as my callsign.

  • Wow. Battlestar Galactica (2004) owes a lot to these games. Dammit, somebody should re-release them for consoles NOW.

  • Who wants to sleep with Stiletto? Raise your hands, please. [raising hand]

    (Just kidding)

  • they should make a real..great 3 hours movie with the Kilrathy...not the crap that came 10 years ago or something.

  • Eh, this one wasn't AS gripping as II, III and IV but it was still better then 90% of the other games out there.. Too bad Origin bit the big one...

Starlancer was about the last good true Wing Commander-style game that i can remember playing.

  • @Stigmatainmypants I agree completely. Starlancer gave me flashbacks to playing WC1, but with the scripting of the later installments. Great game. I lent it to somebody years ago. I miss it.

  • @Stigmatainmypants Well they got bitten by the big one :(. Curse you EA curse you. They destroyed so many good game developers over the last 14 years...

  • @Stigmatainmypants Its freelancer, and yes, its a great game.

  • @Stigmatainmypants

Some of the fan games and mods for WC were excellent too (top of that list for me is "WC:Standoff"). Prophecy wasn't one of my favorites either, but the fans were the ones who really understood what made these games great and kept them alive via these fan games. It is unfortunate that so many of the so-called professional developers can't grasp this.

  • And to think this game came out during just the emergence of video cards, when 3dfx was king, and even the Voodoo 1 was considered high tech back then and even Voodoo 1 made this game look good hehe.

  • BEST GAME EVER

  • You sir, have forced me to dig this up for another replay...

  • So, $300 million for Star Trek before it's out of theaters? I think it has a shot.

  • The upcoming District 9 movie seems to have bug like aliens. But it's just the Romulans in Star Trek and not the Nephilim. I think the turnout for the new Trek will be more than Wolverine. To take a popular line from the aliens for most Trekkers, 'We shall never be stopped'!

  • I mean exactly, probably that's why a lot of people look for this video right now :) Because of the Star Trek first scene :)

  • Wow, this is hilarious. I just saw ST and as soon as I saw the ship, I remembered this scene from the game. Glad to see I wasn't the only one!

  • I thought the exact the same thing :-)

    Ahh, WC: Prophecy. Good times.

  • Wow. I just saw Star Trek, and I thought that the opening scene looked very familiar. Take a look at the footage of the alien attack at 2:42 , then go see the movie and tell me you don't see a similarity.

  • Comment removed

  • Not only is there a resemblance, but that Romulan ship reminds me of the Tiamat dreadnought you encounter towards the end of the game.

  • Yeah, that's a little too close of a resemblance to call it a "coincidence." That's the first thing I thought about when I saw that scene.

    "Hey...that looks familiar...where have I seen that before...o_0"

  • oh JJ abrahams!

  • the instant this romulan ship appeared through this black hole/time continuum thingie i thought the very same thing. sadly i was probably the only one in theatre knowing the wc-franchise. :x

  • I immediately thought of the wormhole gate from Prophecy when I watched Star Trek, too lol

  • Star Trek: Deep Space 9 came in 1993. Prophecy in 1997.

So not sure how your thought that.

  • @atckd

No, I was not referring to DS9. I was referring to the black hole and the Narada coming out of it, and how it looked a great deal like the Kracken ship killer coming out of the wormhole in this video.

  • @SandsOfTime3 I totally agree. I would invite more commentary on this, as it really freaked me out. I was the lead designer on Prophecy, so every bit of Star Trek's alien / wormhole / weapons / weak spot on the alien ship was bizarrely similar. Anyone else?

  • They dont make them as giid as this anymore!!

  • what system is this for

  • All of the recordings have been done on my PC platform. There are alternate versions of Prophecy for other platforms including the Gameboy.

  • Is this available for ps and what is the last non failing mission

  • I heard of a Playstation version, but apparently it only works on the Playstation 1 from what I've read about it. If I'm wrong, I hope somebody will post a reply to correct me.

  • What is the last mission, your collection stops at 19

  • The last mission will be uploaded next Saturday. For this Saturday, I'll upload twelve missions.

  • Aiya! Just when the conflict between the Border Worlds and the Confeds has been resolved...another new enemy shows up! Can't the TCSN get a break? Oh and Blair's a Commodore now. BTW, what's the flagship the TCSN are gonna use for this one?

  • I do applaud you, and yeah, some of those WC1 Secret Ops Missions can be a pain! Nothing sucks like having four Gratha wasting The Claw. Or having Maniac as your Wingman.

  • Glad you've enjoyed the series since Wing Commander 2. I still have Wing Commander 1 to do, so we'll see how good I am when I get there. Secret Ops for Wing Commander 1 has some very deadly missions. I found a hopefully easy way to do the alternate missions for WC1 and WC2. So I'll be doing those and then it's onward to StarLancer.

  • when does this one take place, after part 4?

  • Yes, the official timeline for Prophecy is approximately years after the events at the end of Wing Commander 4. I think Privateer 2 establishes some of the story of what happens between WC4 and Prophecy.

  • Prophecy takes place nearly a decade after WC4. As for Privateer 2, the timeline is actually around 2700's. I'd say it's a whole new universe.

  • They establish somewhere, either in the game or manual, that this takes place 12 years after Blair blew up Kilrah. Since 4 is roughly one or two years after 3, I'll say Prophecy takes place roughly a decade after the Border Worlds conflict. Which would make sense when you take into account the fact that this game follows a new generation of pilots.

  • From what i heard, Prophecy takes place in the year 2681, 9 years after WC4

  • That sounds about right. I believe the design document for this game shows the same date. And yes Privateer 2 takes place decades after Prophecy because when the developers decided to make the game a sequel to Wing Commander Privateer, they set the date far enough to allow some room to fill in the story gaps.

  • Yes!!! After the tremendous success in posting the last four WC games' videos, you post Prophecy as well. Hopefully we'll get to see the old geezer Blair is now, and it's just a cutscene away!!! How ironical...

I rever you, Ô Dave, lord of WC. Thank you.
