@ilikebumfluff I have driven a FIA GT ferrari 550 maranello extensively in order to determine how accurate a simulation it was given in GT5, and my assessment has indicated a 13% accuracy rating (very dissapointing) as opposed to a 51% rating found in the Standard Kart L in Mario Kart (which was secretly modelled from the ferrari in question). It is apparant that Mario Kart is a much more realistic game that GT5 :?...how perplexing
@ilikebumfluff but if you've never driven a FIA GT ferrari 550 marnello, how do you know that gt5 gives a more accurate simuation of it than gtr2? How do you know the sense of speed is not meant to be masked? A lot of fast cars have such smooth acceleration i doubt you really get a grasp of how fast its going because you aren't used to those type of cars.
@ilikebumfluff see the wheel does make a difference lol. As for you feeling you were going slower than you actually were, such is a symptom of driving irl as well. What car were you driving?
@ilikebumfluff mech damage is only 'realistic' at level 40, so the validity of gt5's damage being that of a simulator in any way is compromised. Also, ppl are taking me seriously, that's why you're replying :P
@ilikebumfluff you just proved my point. your wheel is compatible, but that doesn't mean its specially tailored for the game. most likely your wheel is not adequete. And mech damage in both games is not weak, mech damage in gt5 isnot just 'weak', its virtually non-existent.
@ilikebumfluff feedback is dependent on the wheel you use. gtr2 may not have breathtaking graphics, but at least it feels realistic. When you drive a car into a wall at 50mph in gt5 on the other hand, no damage is done. I don't care how many polygons are on the screen, a realistic game should at least have some form of car damage.
@ilikebumfluff yes gt5 has damage, once you reach level 40. Hardly realistic and certainly far behind forza, which at least has damage whenever you hit something.
@ilikebumfluff yeah, gt5 maybe more realistic (which I seriusly doubt it) than Forza, the problem is after two weeks playing the game, I did not came to see almost any damage, while in Fz3 u get it strait away. In Fz3, car customization; organizatation of cars classes and tracks; menus navigation; charging times; and finally online playing is not comparable at all. So what i mean, is that the whole lotte is much better in Fz3, than the years delayed GT5. Anyway, enjoy whatever u play. Regards.
@ilikebumfluff I just sold my ps3 with gt5, man it sucks big time, if is true that you played it, then I am sure u know the feeling whem you get stick to walls, no car in real life will do that, they would be destroy, or the wall will bounce back to the track. U can check zzas_boa account on ebay, you ll see that I sold the thing, and the game. and by the way, Forza 3 is way better than gt5, obiously, you havent played.
Because the video shows the VLN championship - there are up to 30 different classes from a Mini to the GT2 cars. Amateurs and professional drivers race against each other. The M3 GTR was one of the fastest cars there.
in a simulation, you don't care about graphics, but all about physics... get forza 3 or GT5 if you want some beautiful scenery, but don't think it's somewhere near as realistic!
@purpleGoAhead ... but forza 3 (cant speak for gt5, tho) is one of the, if not THE most realistic racing simulation to date. The amount of customizability for cars makes it a ridiculously realistic game, while providing stunning graphics... i'll have to try out this game and see if the simulation is any better...

@ilikebumfluff oh so the car looks perfectly fine, but its actually heavily damaged? oh that's realistic.

@ilikebumfluff read the top rated comments. Simulations are about how the car drives, not how the game looks.
heliosrayne 7 months ago
@ilikebumfluff oh so hitting a wall at 50mph means that my car is invulnerable? Oh yeah that's realistic.
heliosrayne 7 months ago
@ilikebumfluff oh so damage below level 40 is not realistic. Ergo, gt5 does not have realistic damage.
heliosrayne 7 months ago
@ilikebumfluff hmmmm that's funny because i crashed a car into a wall at 100mph in gt5 and nothing happened. That was mind-blowingly realistic
heliosrayne 7 months ago
@ilikebumfluff hmmm that's funny because you celarly stated realistic damage only occurs circa level 40.

@ilikebumfluff no damage is more realistic than scripted damage. yup that is fantastic logic m8

@ilikebumfluff gt5's very realistic with it's damage model isn't it 'get to level 40 before you unlock damage'. Wow just like real life!

Great game, but no excellent because the bloom effects and sunlight effects are poor in the game.
