The distances in the simulation are off by several orders of magnitude...research data from NASA sources show 0.142 AU which is about 18 times the distance from earth to the Moon. With an object that is about 500 m in diameter...we won't even notice. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Did you consider the kinetic energy, because of high speed when hitting the Earth? That energy is transformed into the heat and shockwave. Sure asteroid is small, but probably would devestate the area size of L. A. and its sourandings, but not the entire Earth. I am more worried about fragmets size of pebbles blown out into the space then falling again with speeds more than speed of sound all around of Earth. Imagine if one strikes you at the open as someone shot at you from a gun.

Not hit, just pass near Earth. But there is a great chance it will hit us in 2036, probably near California coast if asteroid on 13.04.2029 goes trough window. Window is called for a area near Earth which determes the future path (orbit), because of gravitational pull of Earth on asteroid on that day. If it goes trough it will hit us, if not it won't!
