  • Oh dear, this is not good! Chris Addison is a good performer but his writing is bad. I liked him in The Thick of It but this, his stand up and radio show are terrible. I hope he's just acting when he guests on Horrible Histories, and not writing!

  • 3... 0_0 racist! :P

  • Its coming out on DVD on the 30th of october ie this saturday!

  • It's like Chris Addison walked into a Monty Python sketch ...

  • Question 5. True or Falase ?

All i could think of was Shooting Stars.

  • Lowest common denominator slapstick unoriginal drivel. if you enjoyed this you are a moron

  • @lambonastickdead Don't be a stuck up cunt.

  • @tainteddeity Fuck off! Obviously you rather enjoy some formulaic sitcom starring only white people with a fucking laughter track than something actually worth watching. Your a moron.

  • @lambonastickdead

    *You're

And what would that assumption be based on? What exactly qualifies something as "worth watching"? Tastes are subjective.

People have varied tastes and enjoy many things. Just as I might enjoy something like this I can see it's not good quality. I don't care, I enjoyed it. Similarly, I might also enjoy something that is classed as high quality.

Making judgements about everybody who enjoys one thing is foolish and presumptive.

  • @tainteddeity Do you think that you're fucking ghandi. "Making Judgements about everybody who enjoys one thing is foolish and presumptive." I bet you think your a genius. "Presumptive"! Well Done. My Judgement was a presumption. Also, I find it funny how you challenged who is qualified to determine whether a programme is worth watching, but you yourself mention how you can watch both programmes deemed high quality and low quality without acknoledging that they are the same people who judge this

  • @lambonastickdead

    *you're

You're doing that thing where, with no indication from me, you assume what I think again.

I'm not entirely sure what you're saying in the last part of your reply... I think you're pointing out a percieved hypocrisy in my argument but I see none.

I think your mistake is in not definining what makes a programme "worth watching"

A programme deemed high quality is not necessarily worth watching and a programme deemed low quality is not neccesarily not worth watching.

  • @tainteddeity To be honest. I agree...But when television programmes are written and commisioned with a structure only slightly altered from the last time they were shown. When they envolve stereotypes living somewhere where all that ever happens abides by formulaic shakesperean sketches, written 100 times or more. I don't get why anybody would ever enjoy watching them, I can only guess it's the type of moron who would enjoy watching programmes like my family or after you've gone.

  • @lambonastickdead

Sometimes you just want to watch trashy repetitive cliche and slapstick.

It's been thought of as funny for decades. That doesn't necessarily make an audience member moronic.

  • @tainteddeity Well then what is the point in wasting thousands of pounds making this tripe when you could make something relevent and interesting for the population of the public who aren't morons. Why not show something funny.

  • @lambonastickdead

Oh dear... why is it a waste when many many people will watch? Just because you don't find something funny doesn't mean others won;'t.

You and people like you are no more important as an audience as anybody else.

  • @tainteddeity The only reason many people will watch it is because it's got a prime time BBC1 slot. If it was on bravo or challenge nobody would watch it, they would immediately dissmiss it as the shit that it is. By the way fuck off with 'oh dear' you loser.

  • @lambonastickdead

I said 'Oh dear' because you still seem unable or unwilling to accept that other people's opinions are acceptable. You and your subjective judgement is not the only acceptable opinion.

I like to think there are 4 basic categories based on production quality and my opinion.

Something is good and I like it.

Something is good but I don't like it.

Something is bad and I like it.

Something is bad but I don't like it.

All are acceptable opinions and they're not all.

  • @tainteddeity Why do we have television programmes which fit into anything other than 'Something is good and I like it.' ? Why not show only good programmes for all audiences? It seems pointless showing a programme where it's audience will admit to it's poor quality yet still enjoy it.

"Sometimes you just want to watch trashy repetitive cliche and slapstick."

Don't say that Chris Addison or the production team will not admit to it being poor quality.

  • @lambonastickdead

Bloody fucking Christ you need to get off your damn high horse. I'm fed up with arguind in circles with you. I've tried to say it simply here but I'll do it again.

Other people have different opinions on TV programmes to you.

Those opinions are no more or less valid.

Defining a programme as 'good' gives us no information about the metric you're using. It's essentially pointless.

There is no such thing as a good programme for all audiences. Get the fuck over yourself.

  • @tainteddeity The kind of moron who would watch this should be reading a fucking book and trying to fucking educate themselves so that they are no longer limited by their own stupidity. It' not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of intellegence. You seem to understand and acknoledge that it is trashy and repetitive but you enjoy it anyway, this is your opinion. But I very much doubt that people of your intellect were it's expected demographic. The idiot who thinks it's original should be in bed.

  • I love this series :)

  • omg rofl that is soooo funny xd lolz

  • A lot of that was in Chris Addison's Civilization. Did he co-write this?

  • Yes, he did.

  • @tory888 Ah, thankyou. No wonder it's so good.

  • I have to say that I did not like the series as a whole, but this is one section that actually made me laugh a bit

  • XD thats fucking funny

"which on a scale of 1 to 5 would you say is most applicable to you? 1 being often and 5 being largest"

I cant sotp laughing lmao (literally XD)

  • @skaraflame that's because you're a moron

  • I retract my my past thoughts at saying ALL British comedy if brilliant, I can't even begin to like this one

  • truth :/ i really wanted to like it cuz it's produced by Armando Iannucci, but all I could think of watching this was the brilliantly awful show-within-a-show on Extras...

  • Why is this not on DVD? Thats what I want to know

  • @HowlieThePointless

it's on Ioffer. for £35 per disk

  • FIRST xD

haha that was funny... thank you BBC
