  • The original song by The Clovers is much better

  • HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

  • Well I am 34 and LOVE all different kinds of music. I do listen to some of today's noise. but i love the peacefulness of the oldies. throughout my life i have been made fun of for my taste in music. but i don't care, there is nothing like listening to some buddy holly or bobby vee along with MANY others!

  • Doo Wop Forever!!!!!!!!

  • Absoulutely LOVE This Song.

  • A M E M !!!!!! WE HAD THE BEST OF SONGS AND VARIETY ? FUN / SLOW DYNAMIC HEART PUMPING MELTING HAPPY JUST WOW ! and listening to what is put on hear is so refreshing and wonderful to REMEMBER !!!!! keep rooting in those burried places and Bring them all out to share and Jar our memories ! I have not heard alot of these forever .... many thanks to all here.

  • I mean Buddy Holly

  • When I see Bobby Holly it sad god bless him on the old record covers it just so sad just becuase he was on a small plane and it crashed plus poor Ritchie Valens may they be in the kingdom of God!

  • This 65 year old teenager remembers that young Bobby Vee had the.....gall.... to present himself at the venue where Buddy Holly was scheduled to perform, ...after the plane crash tragedy. And he was hired to fill in at that venue. His career took off, and history records that he went on to perform and had a very successful career as a major pop artist.

  • @elmerhdga Nice to know that I'm not the only one who thinks about this. he was no Buddy Holly, But having said that, he wasn't a half-bad pop artist. Not the best for sure, but certainly not the worst.

  • Nice version......but,prefer the Billy Fury rendition.

  • Im 18 and I love the 'oldies' <3

  • @CandyXdaXnekoX13 im 18 the songs make a point and can learn lessons from!

  • @100ero Indeed, I couldn't agree more. I think Bobby Vee was a legend.

  • I was born in 69, so i was lucky enough that my parents still listened to there 50s and 60s records and when i got my first record player id have been 10 i think, i was given all my mums old 45s and lps and i had my Auntie Jean my dads sister just 5 mins walk away who had stacks of 78s and a proper 50s radio gram to play them on.

I can still remember the first record i tried it was The RamRods GhostRiders in the sky.

Anyway my mum had all the stars in her box of 45s and i became hooked.

  • I was lucky enough to see Bobby live quite a few years ago. He came out to our table and I got to sing the last line of Devil or Angel with him. Then he actually kissed me. He told me I would probably catch his cold. It would have been worth it. He was totally awesome.

  • I'm only 15, I like this type of music, so please don't stereotype my whole generation.

  • Great! Here I am listening to it again. Never get tired! Incredible time, sorry for the ones that missed it. Good thing that through people who care you can get a glimpse of what it was like. Thanks for uploading it, once again.

  • What a fantastic Pop star Bobby Vee was!! Many years after I soaked up his early hits , I went along to a local theatre near where I live in the UK and there he was performing with his children as his backing band, He was BRILLIANT !!! We had Brian Hyland on the menu that night as well,

  • I'll never figure it out but I've liked this song since I first heard it way back in the summer of 1960 (I think it was 1960) Crazy!

  • nice song ( frumoasa melodie)

  • @mrwarmth21 right on

  • I'm an oldie myself (68) and I agree that music was much better in the day. Have you ever heard anyone singing or even humming any thing from the eighties or nineties ?

We acn still remember lyrics after 50 years. What is that telling You ?

  • i´m a heavy metal fan since i became 12. but i still enjoy this kind of music.

  • heavy metal 'death' rock and c/rap music ruined it (kids are cutting themselves today may have something to do with 'death') although doo wop can be a little repetitous, it was romantic and cause people to marry instead of shack for 12 years

  • Sheesh I like this peaceful music and I like the hyper music too . I'm 17 .. Is that a problem ?

  • I was soooo in love with Bobby Vee back in the day.....and then along came Ben Casey (Vince Edwards). I still love his music though. Thanks for sharing : )

  • I like The Clovers' version better

  • Well this 21 year old agrees, with you 60 year olds and have since i was so so young. My absolute favorite kind of music :)

  • im 12. This music is poo poo pee pee. My music is wayyye awesome.better tahn yours. Temoe Kaya is dance music! it makes old farts have haeart attacks.

  • @Aubreyxisxcool Your stupid . poo poo pee pee? Wow , your seriously a loser.

I'm 12 and I can tell you straight up, this music is WAY better than anything they make now-a-days. And if your gonna insult a video, pay attention in school and SPELL THINGS RIGHT. There you go, now go and play with your dolls now, okay?

  • @caitlinrios143 sorry, that was a joke. I didnt mean to offend anyone or make them look dumb. I thought the poo poo pee pee and poor spelling would clue people in. Plus i dont even think Temoe Kaya is a real artist or anything, i just made that up. Again; sorry.

  • @caitlinrios143 Well said mate.

  • @Aubreyxisxcool You are silly, but I hope you have wisened up now

  • Wow, I never realized just how much Bobby Vee sounds like Buddy Holly in this song. I know they found him in the audience at Moorehead, MN to take over for Buddy on the Winter Dance Party on 2/3/59, but dang, I never did realize how much he sounds like Buddy.

  • Great tune . I grew up with this music, it will never be equaled.

  • thanks for this:) isnt it amazing how music can transport back in time and memories:) hopefully 1 day we can all celebrate again:) happy 2011

  • In this period music was music. Now, music is porn

  • @iriszkovacs I agree, when songs have whore, bitch, humps and racial slurs, that is not music. That is trash and that is where it should be

  • Música linda!!!!

  • Long LIve Slow Dancing :)

  • this sounds just like the song earth angel

  • @poop4256 haha i was gonna write that, i like both songs though, but it does have a striking similarity to it :P

  • Music From Back Then Is Way Better Then The Ones From Now These Days xD I Wished I Was Born In The 50's Not In The 90's :D

  • wheres justin bieber live. Im gunna slit the little cunts throat.

  • This what they call REAL music!

  • One of the classics! No singer today can capture the purity and innocence of entertainment that we listened to throughout the '50's and '60's!!!

  • Wow, I thought this dude was black, does that make me a bad person?

  • @Marz916 No, he's got one of those soulful voices

  • @nickswinter HaHa, thanks for making me feel better.. And yes he does.

  • On opposite day, this song would be called "Angel or Devil". Let them eat cake? Is that what this song is about? Marie Antoinette, who got executed for being too rich while surrounded by all those poor people? I am sooooooo glad I live in the United States of America where that could never happen.

  • @etbella3 It could and it will. The niggers are getting uppity.

  • Oh, my Goodness, this was the best artist in our lifetime, or at least mine, right up there with Elvis....Bobby Vee, if you weren't married....I would Marry You In a Heart Beat....You kept me Alive, with your music, so many time......Luv U

  • Let a 60 year old break it down for the younger crowd. The oldies made us feel good, happy, elated, loving, peaceful...the "music" of today makes you feel hyper, angry, hostile, anxious...Can you feel the difference when you listen?

  • @RandyBful1 This sixty two year old totally agrees. It was a most special time.

Teens now a days have no idea what it feels like to dance a slow song, matter of fact I have seen kids dancing and they look like like they are having seizures...

my dear we are very blessed to have grown and developed back in the day!

    blessings, Doo Wop rules!!

  • @estebana174 I am 19. I agree with you completely. This type of music is perfect and romantic. The music that is popular and on the radio is terrible, you can't dance to it unless you want to look like a spaz. I love Do-Wop!

  • @MeganDanger517 God bless! You have great taste! Enjoy

  • you are so right, teens today need this for whats lost today in music@ heart, soul and love

  • @estebana174 i completely agree! i'm 23 and i was at a dive bar with my girlfriends and i played the flamingos "i only have eyes for you"..... i got approached by this man who was probably in his early sixties.. he asked me if i wanted to dance... and he schooled me. it was the most romantic and classy slow dance that i have ever danced. my generation doesn't fully understand what it's like to dance to a real slow song!!!

  • @luxe311 for sure there is nothing like a nice slow dance. So happy you experienced it! I sure miss those times!

  • @estebana174 I'm only 28 and my husband is 32. We always talk about how awesome it must have been to grow up in the 50's. The music was great, the malt shops and it seemed like there was nothing to worry about like there was when we grew up. We love oldies.

  • @chilabean It was awesome. A magical time where love took it course in music. Boyfriends used to buy one a record to express how they felt. Most romantic! So much great music, folks were softer then. You guys rock! Enjoy!

  • @estebana174 Let this 21 year old agree and disagree with the both of you. Doo wop and so many oldies resonate even today with many people such as myself. I fully appreciate this music so much. It's beautiful and I wish others of my generation didn't care so much about humping to today's music in the dark. I'm rambling, sorry. Anyway. Just know that not all in the "younger crowd" forgot about great past music and hope history repeats itself and people go back to making genuinely good music.

  • @StormTrooperShen well said Darlin! Good to know that some youth can appreciate good music!

  • @RandyBful1

    i totally agree :)

    xxxx

  • @RandyBful1 right on you said it well brother!

  • @RandyBful1 yeah im 16 and i grewe up listening to oldies along with other stuff, and me and my group of friends at school listen to our rock and all that but we all really like oldies alot.. back then you really had to have talent to be a musician, and its just great music

  • @RandyBful1

And please allow this 62 year old thank you for putting into better words than I ever could. It was a magical time with the greatest eras of music in history, namely the 50's and 60's. Thanks my friend. You nailed it.

  • Comment removed

  • @uscgccampbell ya got that right !! Most well said RandyBful1!! Kudos!!

  • @RandyBful1 You said break it down, old man. Now it's not cool anymore. I'm kidding of course, I completely agree with you, this music makes me feel wonderful when I listen to it.

  • @RandyBful1 I Agree With That 100% Thats Why My Main Choice Of Music Are "Oldies" <3

  • @RandyBful1 thank you. i am a teenager, and i personally hate the "Music" (I call it an "unpleasant sound" instead) of today. i have no idea how people can listen to some idiot rhyme about having it hard when he has a million and two dollars (excluding eminem, he had a crappy childhood, but i still dislike the "songs"). now THIS, this is real music, and it makes me feel good as well.

  • @RandyBful1

so true! You hit the nail on the head. Too bad you can't bring back those days ..

  • @RandyBful1 I also totally agree. It's a pity they missed it. Thanks to the ones who upload songs that we enjoyed then they might feel what music was back then: a wonderful thing to listen, enjoy, fall in love with and remember throughout time.

  • @RandyBful1 I am in my 20s and I agree to a certain extent. People don't realize how powerful music really is. There are some good bands out these days, but anything on the radio is manufactured trash and is owned by only 3 corporations. It's disgusting.

  • @RandyBful1 Sorry buddy but what you hear on the radio and tv isn't the majority of music. Music has actually hit an amazing point in the past ten+ years but if you have no idea where to look you're going to miss it. Looks like you missed it.

  • the golden oldies beat all the new music of today

  • I love this song in fact love all bobby vee songs although im a girl that was born in the 70's :)

  • bobby vee songs were a huge part of my life, seems he always knew what to sing about

  • Great , great song. It was his second record to chart, but it's the record that made him a star!!!

  • love oldies this days

  • love oldies fk this days

  • I am 39 years old I love 50 60 70 FK the rest Just playing 4 z $ .

  • Was able to meet Bobby a few weeks ago...singing just as wonderful as ever...looks good too!

  • I'm 17.. :D

I love this old music !

  • Still one of the all-time greats ..this song just reminds me so much of the early 60's...that innicnet long-ago time

  • I should start my own band and bring music like this back!!!!!!

  • So good in concert!

  • I tooooooo

  • schönes lied

  • @odavid45 - My dear friend...I'm an angel...definitely! lol

Thank you so much! Besos! :-)

  • I'm 20 and I've loved this sort music since my early teens (Patsy Cline, Johnny Tillotson, The Drifters and The Carpenters among others). I've always thought that I was born in the wrong era... I hear people like Ke$ha, Rihanna and so-called 'singers' on the radio, and wonder whatever happened to real people with real voices who didn't need to rely on a manufactured image and digital process and just had lovely voices and talent.

  • Nee, is klar

    (\_/)

    (ಠ_ಠ

    c(")(")

    DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

  • This song tugs at my heartstrings...

Thank you for posting it :)

  • Hey redsox....thanks for the sympathy my friend..haha...Never found her...Googled her, searched on Facebook...sigh...no luck...

Still a great great song huh.?

  • @uscgccampbell so sorry you lost her I was a girl a sailor left for an older girl and he married her... always wondered about him you are not alone... May God bless you. have u contacted the school you went to or classmates bet you get lucky

  • @pattir3101

Hi Patti. You are very kind. Pam was my very first serious crush. I was 11. Haha.

I was also a sailor. This song will always take me back to the greatest few years of my life. Times have really changed and the music world is sorely lacking for quality songs and songwriters. I loved the 60's so much and have a vast library of that generation of rock. God bless you too.

  • I'm the youngest I think... (14) and this is one of my favorite songs by bobby Vee. If only songs were more like this in modern times.

  • @modtbod

    I'm 13.

Age is not a factor for attraction to good music (like this), however it does effect the attraction to utter crap.

  • Im 18 and shit, I wish I was a teen in these times,

music was all chill, style was tight, and the swing ass dancing. +)

  • I want to dedicate this song to my 5th grade girlfriend Pam Wilson in St.Andrews who I hoped would meet me at the Halloween carnival so many years ago..This songs still gives me goosebumps..Such a wonderful song...and such a wonderful time in my life.....Where are you Pam?

  • @uscgccampbell LOL, you're breaking our hearts...Did you ever find your "Pam"?

  • This was one of Bobby Vee's best recordings, but it is a close copy of the original by the Clovers.

  • I love them too! They were written with care and thought. Not like alot of junk nowadays.

  • I remember the 60s' when the white boys weren't aping the jailbirds.

Men were men in the 60s'.

Today, the white kids have their hats on backwards, sagging their pants.

    What happened to you America?

  • @Romansteel13 lol I bet the WW1 vets thought the same things

  • wunderschön

  • I'm a 14 year old girl who loves music like this!

I grew up, and am still growing up, listening to this music.

Buddy Holly and Bobby Vee are my favorites.

I've met Bobby and he is a close family friend of my father's.

  • i'm 23...all i listen to is 50's rocknroll/60's...great stuff wish they make good music again.....!!!

  • Hell i am 15 and i like this kind of music

  • @Darkphantom1176 Me too! :)

  • i love this song!!!!!!! ♥

  • Loooove this song!

  • Man 0 man ...this is one fine tune to rub bellies to.

Bobby Vee's music produced some memories.. and probably many babies.

  • Happy Birthday to one of the great ones, today is his birthday he 67 today from my time period I am going to sing some of his music at karaoke tonight.

  • By the way, this ones' on my Songs For Cindy" CD. I sang this to her. She thought it was a Buddy Holly song when she heard it on the Stereo. Devil Or Angel? Cindy which ever you are? I Love You. I miss you. RIP. Baby.

  • I missed the entire period, (born too late!) but would love to imagine dancing with a dreamy fellow to music like this performed live at a prom or something. Oh my.

  • Buddy Holly influenced Bobby Vee alot. Their styled were very similar. Another great classic song.

  • In the 80's I used to have an LP I ordered from those t.v ads called Top 40 Gold , and this was on the L.P. Its' A great song, a Buddy Holly Sound. I did see him when he came to Houston in the early 90's on the Lovin Feelings Tours. He was Great.

  • i wish that i was born in these times i love this music.

  • Love these oldies!!

  • Incredible song!

I have a beat with sampling this song, look in my videos "Live Beatmaking 4"

  • It don't matter what age you are, you got good taste, a great singer is timeless.

  • bei tempi quando nel juke box si suonavano questie simpatiche canzoni

  • grandes recuerdos de mi juventud y quedaran en mi corazon por siempe

  • One of my favorites!!!

  • I'm only 13 but i love the oldies so much!!! :D

  • i am young but still i like the old love songs!

  • I used to listen to this on my dad's old 45 :)

  • im 12 years old and this has to be the best music ever...i wish i was alive during this time period...

  • Im just like you!! im only 13 and i LOVE the oldies!!!

  • @CheekSqeeker15 my dad got me into this music and im only 12 he's 70

  • @CheekSqeeker15 , Im 11 and I agree :) But I like my life so I don't wish this ;)

  • @CheekSqeeker15 i just love it when i see teens loving the commenting about there age . . . i

  • The music today is so void of a good sound, lyric, musicality. It is not even pleasant to the ear. The music tends to follow the grunge look......pants below the crack and hair uncombed. Sad

  • Where has all the good music gone?

  • Devil or angel???♥

  • These songs are timeless. love this song

  • Billy Fury did a wonderful version also, do like this song so much

  • HE IS THE BEST

  • What the hell happened to the music? I wish I had a time machine!

  • @RandyBful1 yea i wonder the same lol i'm only 20 but i love all the songs from the fifties and sixties more than the present day songs lol

  • @RandyBful1

    THAT IS SO TRUE! :D

  • @jopakajjezdj: BTW: I'm 60; so I was fortunate enough to have grown up with these beautiful songs.

  • @RandyBful1 Me too - I'm 62- no music like that now. We were blessed. Romantic times when girls were girls and boys were boys......

  • @RandyBful1 may I say, that makes 2 of us! I loved this song--makes me so sad to see Bobby today--& of course, myself. Back then, I was young, invincible, & I knew I'd live forever & always be handsome. Wolfsky9

  • @Wolfsky9: I've never been handsome; but now, at 60, I don't really care. ;)

  • @RandyBful1, me too

  • @RandyBful1 It went a whole different direction. You really have to choose your music these days and it is a matter of choice...your choice.

  • @RandyBful1 There is a brand new band in town (Stockholm)! We´ll conqer the world with a brand new immortal sound!!

  • my absolute fav song of bobby vee..

a young love's vow of true love

  • The fifties had very good groups, entertainer and songwriters.

  • song if freakan awesome

  • He was good!

  • great singer--great guy!

  • Bobby Vee was by far one of the most influential artists of his time just because of the way he wrote his songs and how he sang them.

  • this olddd music is badass. :)

  • Series of his songs are really soothing my heart.

  • He was at the KY state fair this year--still great after all these years!!
