Your tone is RIGHT ON. That's not a credit to the harmonyman but to your playing. May I ask what else was in the signal path? What's your axe? What type of fuzz are you using? What are you using for an amp? - in case any of that has to do with being so close to the original sound. Great job.
@InsertName125 - Thanks! It's a pretty simple signal path - Parker Nitefly into a home-built Rat clone, through the HarmonyMan, then straight into the mixer (no amp).
I was wondering how should I do if for example I wanna connect the harmony man with a delay and a reverb pedal all in the fx loop. Do I still have to connect the output of the guitar to the input of the harmony man or can I put the guitar on the fx that are in the chain that goes to the input of the amp? I'm a little bit confused :)
@Dedalusalley - I wouldn't recommend putting delay/reverb in the HM's effects loop, instead, put them after the HM. The only reason for the loop is so that you can put a distortion pedal in there and get harmonized distorted guitar. (It would sound completely different if you put the distortion AFTER the HarmonyMan).
No, for this song I used two fixed keys, so the HarmonyMan didn't need to hear the KB. I did a couple of other songs (eg. see the Country Rock one) where the HarmonyMan responded to the chords played by another guitar.
hey merman i just tried it there now i just dialled the effect back a bit it sounds excellent thank you so much for your help its brilliant .....now it sounds like a harmony pedal thanks again
hi there i have the pedal and for the life of me i cannot find a good queen harmony what have you the two voices set to..it sounds fantastic when i play with even one voice it really sounds crap .....please help............thanks merman42 regards peter
Hey Peter - I was just using one harmony voice there, set to 3H for the 1st section and H for the 2nd. Also note the two keys I used for this one - F and Bb.

@MERMAN42 Maybe it's the Rat. The distortion sounds very authentic.
Anyway, BEAUTIFUL JOB!!!

So, is the pedal picking up the sound from that piano track?

Can this be a octave pedal too?
SRVisthebest 3 years ago
I guess you could use an octave pedal instead, but you wouldn't get anywhere near the same effect. BTW the HarmonyMan does octaves too.

Merman, thanks for the settings. How can you run two keys F and Bb at once or are you switching between presets?
keithgurev 2 years ago
Yes, there's 2 presets - you can see me switching them at 1:34.

wow thats pretty cool, i guess this would be good for thin lizzy songs aswell as queen
RichieBullock 3 years ago
Yep, works well for "The Boys are Back". Also does a great octave up for "Dedication". And a whack of other Lizzy songs too. MM.
