More is revealed about this in Persona 4 where basically you learn that Elizabeth goes after Minato to save him from his fate of being the seal, and she intends to accomplish this no matter how long it takes. To do this Elizabeth intends to use the power of those whose hearts were connected to Minato's, i.e. SEES.
P3 has a bit better of a story line to me, I connected with the characters much more than P4. Granted both are great games, but P3: FES made me sad, I didn't like that the MC had to die no matter what. Wish they made P3: FES 2 where the MC does live, though this will never be. I must accept the MC dies Q_Q.

I finally beat the Answer a few hours ago. I will miss this cast of characters. It's a sad but happy ending. Great game. I hope to see these characters again some day in a sequel or something like that.
As much as i love persona 3 i do not like playing it. I'll just defeat the 12 shadows and done. I hate finishing it. The way this game makes you fell about the characters is amazing, you get to know everything about them and and feel like your real life friends with them. The bond you share with them. It's hard to just let it all go.

U know though if aegis keeps her promise to change how ppl think wishing for death nyx would vanish an he would not have to be the seal anymore so in the world of persona anything is possible plus I love how this series feeds off of pain I mean I felt connect to my MC it was the first time an rpg made me cry since airies death in ff7

Happy Ending? Wtf Im glad that agias is alive and a "human" now but I would have prefered if Minato/MC had came back, I would have cryed like a baby then paypal'd 20k to Atlus for a amazing ending.

This whole game's serieas deserves to get so many awardes!!! I cried through the journey and through the answer. The game play is great and the songs are butifull. The games should be known around the world. Mabey they should make a movie out of the games!!!! Not a book through that would suke
You know what makes it a bigger impact when you play this game it isn't Minato it's you. The MC is yourself and you play his life,it's you who defeats Nyx and saves the world. It is you who your friends are trying so desperately to bring back. Aigis and everyone goes through the entire difficulty of the "Answer" for you. It is through your efforts that their lives are changed forever.
I am going to pretend I did not cry when Minato's silhouette showed up. ; ; I kinda hoped that when Aigis opened the door to the dorm Minato's spirit would be standing there. But then again, I probably would have just cried more. >>
I got mad when after spending three whole months carefully play through the game, the protagonist just dies... But I think after seeing this ending, and play through the FES, I at least understand and feel satisfy a little. But they can't revive the MC, is just too sad.

If we were to remove that EVERY SINGLE EMOTIONAL SCENE referring to him is now completely pointless, and just comes off as stupid.

seriously, this is one of the fewest games (or even could be none) that touched my heart. i agree with people's comments, its kinda sad seeing arisato (protagonist) like sacrificed his life and then when the game ends, it's like u'll be leaving SEES members for a long time, since this is a very long game (u can play it up to 120++ hours if u want to complete the journey and the answer)

Normally, when i play a long, good game, i just get attached to the characters and get sad at the end because its like you're leaving them. This time, I also got attached to the dorm, its kinda sad really, and when Aigis locked the door, i felt really depressed for quite a while. I was hoping Atlus would torture us more and show the MC looking through the window down at the guys leaving the dorm. Then he would smile and be happy since everyone was also happy after learning the truth. Then he would fade away like a soul.

Holy shit,... best idea ever..... Persona 5 should be, where all the characters from each persona game TEAM UP!!! And of course, Minato gets brought back to everyone. Then for the final boss, there could be like a mixture of all the final boss themes, and there could be some huge death thingy. The main characters of each persona game could each use their ultimate skills (things like Minato's Armageddon -not great seal, it sucks because he will get trapped, forever unless he is freed by something
Aww come on people...I know she was a bit of a bitch through the game...can't say I blame her for her actions...but come on, Yukari definitely redeemed herself in this ending I think. Hell, even during the game when she was getting snappy I couldn't bring myself to hate her.
You could say FES was foreshadowing was Persona 4. In the Answer everyone tries to find the TRUTH behind the main characters death. They also have to be TRUE to themselves to prevent the fall.
It costs about 1/5th of your HP, BUT, when I use it with auto-tarukaja active, I've seen it do anywhere from 600 to 1200 points of damage on regular enemies. If you have power charge on another persona, you can activate that, switch back over to thanatos, and use tempest blade. I do it to bosses, and it does about 2200 damage or so. Useful.

Remember you will die." After seeing that in the p3 op, i could tell someone would die. Then i saw the ending. I saw it coming, but i didn't want to believe it. But regardless, the MC dying is as much a pro as it is a con to the storyline of p3. Persona is STILL awesome!

I didn't give a rat's *** about the Abyss of Time or its origins. I was immensely disappointed with this ending. That doesn't go to say the ending was "bad" by any standard. In fact, it was quite conclusive. Nonetheless, I WANTED MY PIMPING JESUS BACK!
In the P3P game I named the female MC "Karen Suki Yamoto", her middle name wasn’t labeled into the game but the female MC was a great version of Minato.

BUT all the other characters are back to lv one. But what i did was go to the newly unlocked heaven's door...

@TaijutsuJoshua It will say something is about to happen to Megidola, allow it to happen? Say yes. In a video I saw on here, it turned into vorpal slash. Same thing happened to me. Mean ass attack that one. Through fusion, he got auto tarukaja, then I just used incense cards to max his strength. Plenty o' damage.
@MetalGearRexPilot and that place is DIFFICULT, what i did was get all my party members with me n do 1 or 2 fights. They were level 20-30 and we hadn't even faught the 1st boss yet! plus all your stats (charm, academics, etc) is kept. So u can spend more time maxing out s. links. Im trying to get thanatos cuz i could in my old save, then get Messiah. Hope i helped

@rudeondude21 which may not actually happen because he also did this to separate Nyx and Erebus from meeting again. Also for the people, lifting the Fog of Deceit from people's hearts means that they're more in touch with themselves... including the morally twisted people like Adachi. Now fully conscious that they like making people suffer, the newly-minted Complete Monsters start raising all sort of hell, causing chaos, and generally setting up a crisis for Persona 5 to be about.

i might add that its awsome to know that Elizabeth has decided to leave the Velvet Room and find a way to free the MC from his current state, as mentioned by her sis Margaret in Persona 4. im so looking forward to persona 5! Aigis is supposedly in it as well and she plays a significant role according to Atlus.
in ffx the main character died too but the beauty of it was that in the sequel yuna did all that she can to bring him back, which she did if you get the perfect ending. in this game its so unsatisfying how everyone decides the best way to help out the MC is to move on and have no regrets so that they dont contribute to Erebus's return. i would have LOVED to see Aigis promise to find a way to bring the MC back since she's feels the strongest and is a robot and doesnt need to worry about dying.
Umm, I heard in Persona 4 from Elizabeth's sister, Margaret, that Elizabeth leaves the Velvet Room and is searching for a way to return him to life without removing the seal. That's why Elizabeth isn't in Persona 4, so in other words, he doesn't come back to life- at least not yet!

I was hoping Atlus would torture us more and show the MC looking through the window down at the guys leaving the dorm. Then he would smile and be happy since everyone was also happy after learning the truth. Then he would fade away like a soul.
Err... Maybe not... I already felt threated after seeing the MC's silhouette at the credits.

And then they will all live HAPPILY EVER AFTER, after finding out the meaning of their life. Or they could all just die happily because when you find the meaning of your life, you're supposed to die. (Sad, yes). Then Persona 6, the characters could be the SONS and DAUGHTERS of the characters from each Persona game. Long comment (Merged with the one below). Yup. But I just love Persona. Holy shit,... best idea ever..... Persona 5 should be, where all the characters from each persona game TEAM UP!!! And of course, Minato gets brought back to everyone. Then for the final boss, there could be like a mixture of all the final boss themes, and there could be some huge death thingy. The main characters of each persona game could each use their ultimate skills (things like Minato's Armageddon -not great seal, it sucks because he will get trapped, forever unless he is freed by something

Aww come on people...I know she was a bit of a bitch through the game...can't say I blame her for her actions...but come on, Yukari definitely redeemed herself in this ending I think. Hell, even during the game when she was getting snappy I couldn't bring myself to hate her.

You could say FES was foreshadowing was Persona 4. In the Answer everyone tries to find the TRUTH behind the main characters death. They also have to be TRUE to themselves to prevent the fall.

It costs about 1/5th of your HP, BUT, when I use it with auto-tarukaja active, I've seen it do anywhere from 600 to 1200 points of damage on regular enemies. If you have power charge on another persona, you can activate that, switch back over to thanatos, and use tempest blade. I do it to bosses, and it does about 2200 damage or so. Useful.

Remember you will die." After seeing that in the p3 op, i could tell someone would die. Then i saw the ending. I saw it coming, but i didn't want to believe it. But regardless, the MC dying is as much a pro as it is a con to the storyline of p3. Persona is STILL awesome!

Did anyone else besides me only FORCE themselves to finish "The Answer"...ONLY to see a possible resurrection of the MC/Minato? That was really all I played for. I didn't give a rat's *** about the Abyss of Time or its origins. I was immensely disappointed with this ending. That doesn't go to say the ending was "bad" by any standard. In fact, it was quite conclusive. Nonetheless, I WANTED MY PIMPING JESUS BACK!

I only enjoy games if they have a good beginning (as thats my favorite part) hence why Iwill have plenty of fun with new game +. Also, does equipment that is NOT equipped get transfered over, stuff that is equipped is transfered, or is it all equipment is transfered?

@MetalGearRexPilot yeah, i just started new game+ on p3p, i had all the best bought equipment, as soon as you can see your persona list u can equip your old stuff. when u unlock the compendium, you can also get all your old persona, and since u keep your level, u pretty much dominate most of the game. BUT all the other characters are back to lv one. But what i did was go to the newly unlocked heaven's door...

Mean ass attack that one. Through fusion, he got auto tarukaja, then I just used incense cards to max his strength. Plenty o' damage.

@MetalGearRexPilot and that place is DIFFICULT, what i did was get all my party members with me n do 1 or 2 fights. They were level 20-30 and we hadn't even faught the 1st boss yet! plus all your stats (charm, academics, etc) is kept. So u can spend more time maxing out s. links. Im trying to get thanatos cuz i could in my old save, then get Messiah. Hope i helped

Also for the people, lifting the Fog of Deceit from people's hearts means that they're more in touch with themselves... including the morally twisted people like Adachi. Now fully conscious that they like making people suffer, the newly-minted Complete Monsters start raising all sort of hell, causing chaos, and generally setting up a crisis for Persona 5 to be about.

i might add that its awsome to know that Elizabeth has decided to leave the Velvet Room and find a way to free the MC from his current state, as mentioned by her sis Margaret in Persona 4. im so looking forward to persona 5! Aigis is supposedly in it as well and she plays a significant role according to Atlus.

in ffx the main character died too but the beauty of it was that in the sequel yuna did all that she can to bring him back, which she did if you get the perfect ending. in this game its so unsatisfying how everyone decides the best way to help out the MC is to move on and have no regrets so that they dont contribute to Erebus's return. i would have LOVED to see Aigis promise to find a way to bring the MC back since she's feels the strongest and is a robot and doesnt need to worry about dying.

Umm, I heard in Persona 4 from Elizabeth's sister, Margaret, that Elizabeth leaves the Velvet Room and is searching for a way to return him to life without removing the seal. That's why Elizabeth isn't in Persona 4, so in other words, he doesn't come back to life- at least not yet!
