What would happen if u used 2 magnets set at different degrees on the bike wheel ,in other words use what u got and add 1 more or 2 more push rods at different points ,but they would have to have some offset too them,they couldn't be at 12 a clock and 6. .12:30 and 6:00 ?This would increase the push or drive ,just like a cam on a small engine .This is something u would have to play with to get it right but it will work

Just a little info for you. A motor should be able to do work. Turning a wheel isn't doing any work other than overcoming friction (and since it slows down its not even doing that). Try hooking it up to a fan or an electric motor. It probably won't even complete one revolution then.

The average torque, ignoring friction, of the current setup is zero. The new magnet will add a new torque vs angle curve to the situation, but that too averages to zero over one full rotation. Without a better time-span showing the actual and obvious acceleration this video is not convincing. And I'm sorry about your girlfriend. Please repeat this with an entire video, demonstrating claims. The 'wobble' of the magnetic piston could be significant should this be more than a claim that it-worked-but-the-video-was-destroyed video.
Gravity and magnetism are not spinning the wheel. The momentum of the wheel is what keeps this going and probably for no more than a minute in spite of the resistance that the magnet is adding.
Eventually the wheel would run out of momentum and the magnet hanging from the wheel would come to rest in a spot that has an equilibrium of force between the push of the other magnet and the pull of gravity.
Just for the record, if anyone at all can make a 'perpetual motion' machine with no external energy force applied, he can collect a million bucks from the James Randi Foundation. The concept of perpetual motion is akin to the supernatural in this context. I know I know, it's possible in deep space with moving bodies, but we are talking about the Randi Lab in NYC here. Try this technique with a model of an internal combustion engine. Mount North magnet at piston, and North magnet at top of head. Repeat this on all pistons.
If you consider small motions (dX if you are into math) you will see that there is no way to move magnets together and apart and end up with more energy than you started with. The best you can get out of moving magnets is a spring like action that stores energy and then gives it back.

Its needs a very precise construction and correct alignment of the magnet to work it successfully. The best one that I saw is the Perendev magnet motor. Its really great.. Hi...I can't help the advance of calming any controvercy here. The simplicity (to me) came to accepting natures course in harmony with natural, kinetic materials. I could not command "it" to obey me. "It" would show me by little, subtle hints; listening, watching, etc. Whatever was in front of my face to try was the theme of natural following. One makes zero average torque. Adding together things that make zero average torque results in zero average torque. There is no combination of zeros that gives an answer other than zero.
(To me) This particular arrangement simply stumbled into a sequence. Using several combinations of natural elements we do not see. I feel perhaps at this SIZE; it renders not much more than a toy...as though the "zero torque" mentioned herein is valid by evaluations. Although, some of the "distructive" attempts were dangerous and violent....I was satisfied with the "marriage" of natural forces, natural materials and a very limited longevity of its kinetic, mechanical result.
Very nice attempt however you would get more power out of a couple feet of solar panels than you would turning over an alternator with the VERY limited torque that device has. even through magnets passing by individual coils would not provide much at all either. Nice attempt though to aim for perpetual motion. The intentions are good, just don't waste too much time on something that doesn't work, trust me. There are things that do work and have less downsides rather than almost 0 torque devices.
Is there any body who would like to try buoyance instead of Magnets at the bottom. If anybody can try using an empty plastic bottle at the end of the piston and put some water bucket into which the bottle will go down and displace some water in the bucket by the pressure of the weight in the wheel that would be completely perpetual. So in that way you will use two opposite forces (gravity and buoyancy) to work against each other.

i never understood how a object traveling through space can slingshot past a planet gaining momentum. NASA says they do it, Maybe your doing it with the magnets.

If you take it step by step in time it isn't hard to prove that the effect is no mystery. The space craft gets pulled towards the planet and the planet gets pulled towards the space craft. Because the planet is so massive the energy it loses doesnt matter much to its orbit.

Looks to me like I am going to have to give this a try after I get my 2 stage oscillator working (which will be very soon).
You said it right in a PM to me today. Put a starter motor on it that will run it up to and through warm up. BUT; put some REAL weight on it. AND. use stronger materials. And better balancing. I got everything we need right here partner. 8 ft. dimater wheel. Kick ass bearings. And magnets that will push over 200 pounds.

A company called "Power Point" Topflight, has a device that is nearly frictionless for balancing props for model airplanes,small tires,gears,etc..It uses a thin 4" long shaft, with pointed ends,suspended between two strong magnets! Can hold pretty good weight..Very easy to build,crude but functional.You might find one in a local hobby shop.

@Rodrigotadeusouza There is no way that energy can ever be created just by the motion of magnetic poles. There is no point in adding another magnet to the situation. The average torque, ignoring friction, of the current setup is zero. The new magnet will add a new torque vs angle curve to the situation, but that too averages to zero over one full rotation. The result is 0+0=0 no average torque. This is a blind alley.

Gravity and magnetism are not spinning the wheel. The momentum of the wheel is what keeps this going and probably for no more than a minute in spite of the resistance that the magnet is adding.
Eventually the wheel would run out of momentum and the magnet hanging from the wheel would come to rest in a spot that has an equilibrium of force between the push of the other magnet and the pull of gravity.

Love the video. Thanks for sharing this. Clearly shows the inherent and intrinsic energy which can be released from magnets. Gravity is assisting this process....but that's cool. Try this technique with a model of an internal combustion engine. Mount North magnet at piston, and North magnet at top of head. Repeat this on all pistons.

Don't waste your time on this mistaken idea. It can't work as I will explain:
(1)
The force between two magnetic poles is always along a line between those poles.
(2)
The force only depends on the current positions. The history doesn't matter.
(3)
Remember that: Work = Force (dot) Distance
The dot means you multiply the components that are parallel. Think of walking up and down a hill vs along its slope or at some angel.

If you consider small motions (dX if you are into math) you will see that there is no way to move magnets together and apart and end up with more energy than you started with. The best you can get out of moving magnets is a spring like action that stores energy and then gives it back.
The idea that you can get energy from magnetic fields and still have a field there when you are done is like the idea that you can take water out of a bucket and have it remain full. It just can't happen.

If you make your own pedal powered generator all you then need to do is find a girl friend who is willing to ride it for just a few seconds. In that few seconds she will have made some actual electrical power which would be more than will ever be made by all the "magnet motors" in the universe.

Its needs a very precise construction and correct alignment of the magnet to work it successfully. The best one that I saw is the Perendev magnet motor. Its really great.. Hi...I can't help the advance of calming any controvercy here. The simplicity (to me) came to accepting natures course in harmony with natural, kinetic materials. I could not command "it" to obey me. "It" would show me by little, subtle hints; listening, watching, etc. Whatever was in front of my face to try was the theme of natural following. (To me) This particular arrangement simply stumbled into a sequence. Using several combinations of natural elements we do not see. I feel perhaps at this SIZE; it renders not much more than a toy...as though the "zero torque" mentioned herein is valid by evaluations. Although, some of the "distructive" attempts were dangerous and violent....I was satisfied with the "marriage" of natural forces, natural materials and a very limited longevity of its kinetic, mechanical result.

Very nice attempt however you would get more power out of a couple feet of solar panels than you would turning over an alternator with the VERY limited torque that device has. even through magnets passing by individual coils would not provide much at all either. Nice attempt though to aim for perpetual motion. The intentions are good, just don't waste too much time on something that doesn't work, trust me. There are things that do work and have less downsides rather than almost 0 torque devices.

Is there any body who would like to try buoyance instead of Magnets at the bottom. If anybody can try using an empty plastic bottle at the end of the piston and put some water bucket into which the bottle will go down and displace some water in the bucket by the pressure of the weight in the wheel that would be completely perpetual. So in that way you will use two opposite forces (gravity and buoyancy) to work against each other.

The only problem is that gravitation and the magnetic force are conservative forces. Meaning the work they do on any object passing through their respective fields in a closed path is 0. So friction will still triumph because it is a NON-conservative force. Friction is the only thing that does work on your contraption. Your girlfriend did you a favor. Two fields always differ in time, hence there is action, thus there cannot be conservation between them. Otherwise the universe would be immobile. All four fundamental forces of nature are conservative, but the result of their cooperation is apparently a living, moving universe with relative time phenomena. Two fields generall differ in POSITION. However if YOU are moving with in the field, your position changes as a function of time. Anyway, when you sum two conservative fields (written as a function of time), one finds the curl of the net vector field it is still 0. Also when you use the mathematical definition of work which is the line integral along a path C with respect to t, you find that the work done on any CLOSED path is still 0. Want me to show you???

If you pass an object just slightly behind a planet in orbit, the planet loses a little energy and the object gains some. If you take it step by step in time it isn't hard to prove that the effect is no mystery. The space craft gets pulled towards the planet and the planet gets pulled towards the space craft. Because the planet is so massive the energy it loses doesnt matter much to its orbit.

No, if the space craft passes in front of the orbiting planet, then the spacecraft loses energy and the planet gains.
Remember that energy is
E = 0.5 * M * V^2
The V^2 bit makes a big difference.
The force on the space craft is in part parallel to the direction of its travel. As it comes towards the planet it is pull forwards along its path, as it goes away, it is pulled back.

Gravitation is a conservative force, meaning that no work is done by gravity in an object traveling around a closed loop. Also, something in orbit's speed does not vary.

On the subject of magnets and gravity interacting in a "motor" we have other energies to discuss. Energy can change from kinetic to potential and back. The total remains constant. (except for losses)

No we can't limit the discussion of energy to kinetic energy. We also must talk about potential energy. To say that kinetic energy is decreasing without saying that potential energy is increasing is saying that there is NON-conservative forces at work on the system, otherwise mechanical energy isn't conserved
The situation we discussed earlier is too complicated to say generally what happens as an object passes through a reigon of gravitational potential. We must discuss a specific case

I am done arguing it now, but I maintatin my original position that energy is a bad way to talk about it.... FYI, for the first moon trip, NASA used nothing but Newton's laws which we (survey says).... Force equations

On the space craft passing a planet, only the kinetic energy changes from before to after in the general case. If you want to do a fuller treatment, you are correct but I was explaining the spacecraft planet interaction for someone who didn't understand it.

Looks to me like I am going to have to give this a try after I get my 2 stage oscillator working (which will be very soon).
You said it right in a PM to me today. Put a starter motor on it that will run it up to and through warm up. BUT; put some REAL weight on it. AND. use stronger materials. And better balancing. I got everything we need right here partner. 8 ft. dimater wheel. Kick ass bearings. And magnets that will push over 200 pounds.
