Zeitgeist was a bit over-produced - takes away from his natural voice and the raw power that we hear in their live sets from 2007 of the newer songs. This is especially the case with United States! The album version sounds rather confined compared to the Rock Am Ring recording of that song.

i think the reason they got off of there label was because Billy wanted to be a lot more experimental... which is good except it gets repetitive causing it to be annoying.

They got off their label because their label basically quit letting them put out material at all. Billy intentionally made this his least experimental album, which he has continually stated, so I don't get where you're getting that this is experimental. It's pretty basic musical stuff. Still sounds good, but not experimental.
