I don't know why you're so afraid! Bats are adorable for one, and two, they a huge example of "it's more afraid of you than you are of it". They might fly over your head in an attempt to escape, but they're not going to attack you or anything :(

oh man. this reminds me of when we had a bat in our old house. My mom woke me up because she kept hearing flapping noises in her bedroom. I walk in there, turn on the light and see a bat doing laps around the room.

I shut the door, armed myself with a goalie mask, winter gloves and a tennis racket and went back in. Never found it again! About a week later there was a funky smell throughout the bedroom, but we never found the bat again. Even after we moved and emptied the room. No bat. good luck
