I recall that the news about Heath Ledge's death made me stunned. At first, I even thought he died because he was obsessed by this homosexual cast, but there is no police investigation proving that. I also like him in the character of TheJoker in Batman movie. I like Jake Gyllenhaal too because of his full-emotion eyes. by the way, is this mountain real?

It's about "love" - the love that one regrets not going after - not taking the chance when you know it's right. The film was set in the 50's or early 60's & in a rural area. No one accepted homosexuality then - it was hidden and not spoken of. He made his choice for fear of them both being killed. They both did a great job acting in this - the love was always visible.

Love this movie...it moves beyond what we are taught to believe is the "right" way. Love the characters and those who played the part. They bring more inspiration and admiration for having gone so far in their roles as actors. Heath will always be missed.

Yes and it surprised alot of people too.Jake really admited to his extreme homophobic...ness.almost every scene where he was required to touch made him almost vomit several times.He tried as hard as he could not to throw up because then he,d have to reshoot and doing it once was tough enough.He even asked if his double could do the tent scene because getting that close to the other actors butt was next to impossibe for him.Said he,d rather penetrate a pigs ass that a mans.gwahahaha.

I remember the day I got home from work and heard on the news that Heath was found dead. My knees hit the floor and I cried like a baby. He was one of my favorite actors. I still cry about his death some times. His poor baby girl Matilda having to grow up with out her daddy.
I believe the movie was such a terrific production not only because of the story, which although simple could go beyond the lines of conventionalism, but also because of the great performances.
Putting the "gay" factor aside, the film was about true love, and how it can change anybody's life... no matter gender or orientation.

Your comment made me smile and think of my dear friend from Brazil and what he said once about sex that I had never thought of in that connotation. He said the act of sex, was like a little piece of chocolate. What was important was the before and after. i never had any desire to watch this movie but one night it was on the television and i caught half of it was a little confused, so i had to rent it to figure out what i had missed. make a long story short, i now own a copy, know the movie word for word and want all of jake's movies. something about to two sexy guys , boots , hats, horses, tents....yeeehaaaw! i'd go to brokeback anyday. awsome video,awsome movie.

i love heath ledger,,he was truly an amazing actor and he never thought he was good enough. he even said "im not as good as i want to be. i dont think ill ever be as good as i want to be." the whole thing was tht he had absoluetly no self confidence in front of the camera and he didnt see how truly amazing and brilliant he was in my opinion brokeback mountain and the dark knight were his two best performances and they were the complete opposite which just shows his incredible range in acting.rip

That's so cute! I just saw the movie and I'm greatly moved. The love between Jack and Ennis (especially Jack for Ennis) is so incredible. Also, I feel that Jake G might be a tad bi. :)

Yes and it surprised alot of people too.Jake really admited to his extreme homophobic...ness.almost every scene where he was required to touch made him almost vomit several times.He tried as hard as he could not to throw up because then he,d have to reshoot and doing it once was tough enough.He even asked if his double could do the tent scene because getting that close to the other actors butt was next to impossibe for him.Said he,d rather penetrate a pigs ass that a mans.gwahahaha.

I remember the day I got home from work and heard on the news that Heath was found dead. My knees hit the floor and I cried like a baby. He was one of my favorite actors. I still cry about his death some times. His poor baby girl Matilda having to grow up with out her daddy.

I believe the movie was such a terrific production not only because of the story, which although simple could go beyond the lines of conventionalism, but also because of the great performances.
Putting the "gay" factor aside, the film was about true love, and how it can change anybody's life... no matter gender or orientation.

I still get a little teary eyes ashamed as I am to say it being a cowboy we do have emotions in us too although hard to find I left this movie a little treary this movie is so like how me and my ex were I was the hardcore cowboy scared of commitment and what people would think and he so wanted a relationship it ultimatlly broke us up ..this is a damn good movie i still get asked as a gay cowboy if i have been to Brokeback Mountain and I look at them and say Yes been there and lived it
