actually if you see ash in her earlier films she looked tremendous in western attire ... for instance see her in ajooba (from jeans), or josh (movie) or even aur pyar hogaya ... she just needs a new stylist cus her current stylist sucks ... in her vogue shoots she is wearing western gowns and she looks amazing ... plus lately she packed on a few pounds and voluptuous women fill out indian outfits much better than western outfits

She looks so beautiful in traditional indian attire but when she wear modern clothes it just doesn't cut it. But when you see Priyanka Chopra she looks amazing in those dresses. Every other actresses have their qualities. It is on an individual basis these sort of things. More of a subjective matter. And in the end, it all boils down to the fact that to each their own. :)
