hunting tip: Do not sit or stand on the game trail when calling in elk. I had one come in with his nose on the ground sniffing like a dog. He kept coming straight to me with me at full draw until he saw my feet and raised his head! Last thing he ever did!

hey moron , you tell me how hunting is unfair when your cornerd by a 1500 pound animal with six to ten spikes on either side of his head, and your not going to have much time to reload when that first bullet doesnt kill him and the animal decides to gore your face out then stomp on your head.. i watched a concervation officer pump an entire round of shells from a .357 into a grizzly bears head at point blank, ya the bear tore the shit out of him ,and guess what he was doing, saving its life.
the bear was going to be killed for killing a dog in the city , so the officer escorted the animal to the woods in a giant bear cage...when he opend the door the bear got a hold of him and thats when he obviously had to dispatch of it....sorta
It is unfair because the animal is acting on instinct, they do not know that what they are doing is wrong, they are simply acting how they have acted for thousands of years. Human's can make a concious decision on whether they want to put themselves in the position of being hurt by the animal. Why kill such a beautiful animal just to hang its head on your wall?

Just like you, they don't want to be part of this "sport" and they certainly love thier life and would appreciate it if humans would stop destroying thier habitat and killing them for fun

Maby if you tried it, you would understand the herritage and life style of hunting. Set asside the freezer that elk will fill for the next year, it tastes better and is a more healthy meat to eat than beef. Hunting is a natural and productive adrenalin rush, most likely the only way you can come close to that feeling is to shoot up whatever it is you do, or OD on NyQuill! Bite the bullet, Give hunting a try and at the very least try an Elk dish. It will do you some good.

Excuse me? Have u forgotten that you're an human? You're in 2008. Hunting for food is long gone. U can buy free range products. n did ya know, meat is bad for ya health! Adrenaline rush? Even with a gun and scent covers and anything to make u as invisible as possible? Your adrenaline rush sounds more like the urge to kill, like u know what murderer's feel. Don't take it out on innocent animals, especially when they've no chance of survival.

I understand that those days, like so long ago, we needed to hunt for food but now there's no need for that. Hunting brings no good! These ppl here are definitely not hunting for food, and if it's abt conservation, they should save their money and go donate instead of paying to kill.

listen i hunt for sport yes, and i also get my free diners from it, what the hell is ur problem, do u post comments to KFC or MACDonalds complaining about the millions of animals slaughtered for their consumption, what we kill is reared naturally in its own environment, lifes a free life, killed quickly with the minimun of fuss and suffering, it is not reared to be killed. What is not shot lives to fight another day, not so for intensively reared animals, point ur keyboard elsewhere mate!!

I know plenty of families who depend on that buck, or bull for food. It is life. Do you cry every time someone pulls that delicious tomato off the bush, ending its growth and form of life? The fact that you would take a humans life over a animals is in fact animal. Do you hate cougars, hawks, bears, and any other animal that kills another animal for food? hey moron , you tell me how hunting is unfair when your cornerd by a 1500 pound animal with six to ten spikes on either side of his head, and your not going to have much time to reload when that first bullet doesnt kill him and the animal decides to gore your face out then stomp on your head.. i watched a concervation officer pump an entire round of shells from a .357 into a grizzly bears head at point blank, ya the bear tore the shit out of him ,and guess what he was doing, saving its life.

the bear was going to be killed for killing a dog in the city , so the officer escorted the animal to the woods in a giant bear cage...when he opend the door the bear got a hold of him and thats when he obviously had to dispatch of it....sorta

It is unfair because the animal is acting on instinct, they do not know that what they are doing is wrong, they are simply acting how they have acted for thousands of years. Human's can make a concious decision on whether they want to put themselves in the position of being hurt by the animal. Why kill such a beautiful animal just to hang its head on your wall?
also, using a gun is gutless and pathetic. if you cant kill it by hand, you shouldnt kill it at all.

i hunt for meat not trophys ,its a heck of a lot easeir for me to shoot it than slap it to death,it would be funny to watch tho. i agree that people who do hunt for trophys shouldant be using a gun,maybe a bow,or an olive fork. but guns should be the least of your worrys, how about the people who bait them and shoot them at the feeder,or game ranches. I have respect for animals and i will contine to do so forever , there are too many ppl who do not. those are the people who get hurt in the bush.

I am a keen fisher, and I love nothing more than eating a free baked fish.
But as you said, people who hunt purely for the thrill and trophy are fucking pathetic.
People need to wake up and realise animals have feelings just like human beings.
