Great point about Khan Prescott. I thought prescott got robbed yesterday and I hope khan fights him to prove that he can beat him now. Its all about styles and like you said prescott has a nightmare style for khan, or so it seemed at the time..
@boxinginfo Don't need enlighten you all. Because most people already know. But, for your benefit, yes, there is overwhelming circumstantial evidence placing O.J. at the scene of that crime.
Meanwhile, with Gatti, there's not even clear evidence that a murder occurred. The two cases aren't remotely comparable.
As to the purse strap, if it's true it could hold 78 pounds of pressure, that is more than strong enough for Gatti to have strangled himself with.
@lane99 The operative word you used was "circumstantial" YES I agree the two cases are not remotely close, but what I'm saying is as guilty as most people feel OJ is based on a lot of "circumstantial" evidence I believe the Brazilian authorities had this correct initially and SOMETHING PERSUADED them to change their minds such as finding out that their suspect was a Brazilian national who stood to inherit a pretty healthy estate from an American. CONT.
@boxinginfo Come on, I'd take Dwyer odds that they knew exactly who these people were from day one. Gatti is a celebrity, for gosh's sake. And, despite your suspicions, it's next to impossible there's some sort of anti-American conspiracy at play here. Cuz, well, Gatti wasn't American.
Yes, something did persuade them to change their minds. The evidence.
@lane99 I'm not saying there is an anti American conspiracy. What I am saying is the Brazilian authorities are corrupt just like every other nation's authorities including US.
@lane99 Part II The purse straps could not support 78 pounds for more than a minute or so. How in the world are they going to support 160-165lbs for as long as it took to choke the life out of a professional athlete with a really thick strong neck? I'm sorry but I'm with Pat Lynch, Main Events, and the Gatti family on this.
@boxinginfo When people commit suicide by self-strangulation, they don't need to support their whole body weight. You would be surprised how little pressure it takes. FAR less than 78lbs. And you'd also be surprised how quickly it occurs. You can be unconsious within a few seconds. Death follows shortly thereafter.
This purse strap issue seems to be a red herring.
@lane99 Like I said the police had it right the first time when they held her what 11 days before finding out who the deceased really was? I'm with Pat Lynch no way Gatti killed himself, sorry I'm not buying it.
Can't believe you actually said the case against Gatti's widow is more airtight than that against O.J. That's just crazy.
And it's ironic you cast aspersions on Brazil (without a shred of evidence) when the very thing you're accusing then of is actually what happened with this US report.
"Experts" like Paul Ciolino and Cyril Wecht will say whatever those paying them want them to say. Which, in this case, was that Gatti (RIP) didn't commit suicide.
@lane99 Please enlighten us all. Did they ever find a murder weapon in the OJ case? Did they every place him at the scene of the crime? Now was Gatti's widow at the scene of the crime? Was anything recovered from her used in the death? Answer those questions and you'll see it my way. The Brazilian police had it right the first time. And how did purse straps support his weight long enough to kill him?
And what evidence do you have that Gatti would commit suicide its not like he was Valero?
Well said about, Adamek. I agree with the outcome. Vitali will win. But Adamek will give his all in front of his home crowd. Could be a very good fight. It was Prescott's ram rod jab that started all the trouble for Khan. Amir was clearly hurt by that jab before he was KO'd. Mitchell did well against Prescott. He fought a smart fight, McCloskey does have the movement and skill to do the same as Mitchell but it remains to be seen if that happens.
regarding Gamboa losing his belts the rumor is that Arum did not allow him to attend the mandatory IBF weigh-in, despite Gamboa being in the weight limit. Arum originally wanted to give the belt to Mikey Garcia without having him face Gamboa. Then the WBA came up with some bullshit that since Gamboa no longer had the IBF, than that means he isnt "Regular" champ or some bull and stripped him of that too.
@DamienThe1st thats exactly what with the IBF belt and about the WBA they said he was no longer a super champ because he doesnt hold both belts and took that from him aswell. Which is very unfair since chriss john has never hold 2 belts at the same time and he is considered a super champ. They just want to get champions that attract bigger audience like mexicans, puerto ricans or americans. Its total bullshit and sad that a talent like gamboa isnt recognized .
Regarding the gash behind Gatti's head, how is the forensic examiner able to determine the difference between a blunt object striking Gatti's head and Gatti's head impacting the floor? Isn't the floor a blunt object? Also, how are they able to determine that the gash was not caused by the stones used by pedestrians to pelt Gatti as he was beating his wife and another man earlier that day?
@KidGloves2112 Maybe the width and depth of the wound? The angle of the wound in relationship to the head? The over all size of the wound?
My view is there is no way in hell he died from hanging himself with purse straps that the report I read couldn't even hold 78lbs for more than a couple of minutes without breaking.
Since Mathysse pulled out of the Morales fight., my preference would be Khan-Prescott II now. Hopefully Prescott shuts up and concentrates on putting in a performance against McCloskey. Unfortunately I expect the same mediocre performance hes been producing ever since the Khan fight and that McCloskey will likely outbox him.
@boxinginfo Good stuff man. What are your thoughts on the cancelation of the Morales/Mathysse fight, and the replacement for Mathysse whoever that happens to be?
Berto seems to want to use his strength to overpower his opponents, which will work about 8 out of 10 fights, when he steps up in class he will be beat, he stands right there to be hit. Yes he's exciting but he can only go so far.
I'm with you on Margarito. The man is a beast at 147+ and can take incredible punishment.
