Read the UN resolution. Almost all of Europe signed it saying there would be "Severe consequences" if Saddam didn't cooperate. I guess France's interpretation of severe consequences was a strongly worded letter.

The largest oil reserve in the entire world is in Alaska. It was discovered in 1975 and thus far we have not drawn one court of oil out of it. The deals that Kissinger made back in the 70's keeps us from using our own oil. If you wish to learn more about this.....look up Lindsey Williams.
