I don't really understand why Bruce is so popular. I'm learning this song and it's four chords repeating throughout the entire song. I don't get it myself, but people that like Bruce just flip out over him. I dunno, go figure?
I didn't either for 19 years, while my dad had been playing his songs the whole time.. but then, two years ago he just wrapped me totally. Im stoned high every time I see him live like this. And Im still find new Bruce songs to fuck up my mind with, he have a couple of songs for every moment, for every feeling!!!
Try learning Kitty's Back, Rosalita, Jungleland, Backstreets, Because the Night, or Thundercrack for compostition. Try getting the tone and feel of his guitar in Adam Raised a Cain or Streets of Fire. Remember, it's not just how many chords you play - but what you do with 'em. Enjoy.
@thebigleone great art always has a simple foundation. When you add ingredients like the intoxicating rythm, an original voice that is earthy while being able to soar. Last but not least lyrics that every heart can relate to and you have a legend with an iconic song.
@thebigleone 1/2 We all have artists, things, or ideas, that make each of us flip out, that we have had such an emotionally compelling experience with that it defies logic. For every single one of those, there are people who are diehard fans and people who aren't. If you think of whoever inspired you to play guitar in the first place, while they strike you as phenomenal, I guarantee you there are a LOT of people who don't "GET them," as blasphemous as that may sound... @thebigleone 2/2 Bruce and E Street are just one group who have connected so intensely with their music with a lot of people, myself included - and especially live. I doubt you'd be blown away, but if I had to share one clip that I think best represents an understanding of WHY people are passionate, I highly recommend youtube dot com slash watch?v=KFAr2AbvvF8 - frenetic, passionate crowd, fun song and overall experience. Even better If you have good speakers w/ bass, and have some down time.
before the concert when im tailgating in the parking lot the song comes on one of the cars. im like to myself that would be sweet if he plays this. then i remember he never plays it so i didnt get my hopes up. then i saw that sign go up and i completely lost it...
Well, if you buy through Ticketmaster you've got to be lucky. I did try but didn't succed so, since I flew all the way from Brazil to The USA, I bought it from scalpers. Easy but expensive. But it worthed.
