My mother and I both have PKD... After a couple of years of dialysis, a woman that goes to my mom's church donated a kidney to her and she is doing awesome! The only way PKD causes kidney failure is if the cysts grow/multiply till they strangle the kidneys. It doesn't always happen, though. Some `go their whole lives without a diagnosis or kidney failure. There is still hope for us yet, Phil!
