I personally like Peter's version of the Melissa Manchester hit since he co-wrote with Carol Bayer Sager. Seems to me that so much of the song represents his life it's ups and downs and triumphs. He was a consummate entertainer in every sense of the word. Tenterfield Saddler tells the whole story of his life short as it was. Sad but we only have his music now, the man is silent, but he lives on in the hearts of all his fans:MILLIONS OF THEM! RIP Peter, see you in rock and roll heaven!
What a magnificent talent. I just came across a few 45's that have been boxed up for years. One of them is Peter Allen singing "Pretty, Pretty." I used to play it so much back in the 70's. I'm so glad to see some of his songs on here. I was really hoping to hear Pretty, Pretty again on here. What a beautiful blast from my past.
I saw him three times, met him once and was taken how kind he was to us. I still play his discs, his music should not die with him. These songs still hold up today. God bless you, Peter.
@DTekula9931 That had to be so cool. I didnt learn about him until recently when I saw the clips up here from The Boy from Oz. But I've loved his music since I was a kid (only 41 before you ask lol) becuase I listened to Sinatara and singers kids of my generation didnt listen back then,
@strawdog1234567 a couple of million people did loved & adored him Certainly not his best renditon but the genuius is he wrote it and all his songs are deeply personal not the crock of sh&t they right today
The Tenterfield Traveller at his finest on the world stage. There is a massive void in the music industry today for the storyteller songwriter. Back in Peter's era, you had the likes of Slim, Rolf and Don from the Chisels mixed in with the likes of Bon and Angus. I also remembering him performing at the 1980 grand final.
So corny.

Peter, a kid from a small Australian country town, maybe that's why people say he was very kind, he came from a grass roots beginning.

Agree... one of the most under-rated song writers.

Who told this guy he could sing. Listen to Joe Longthorne for the best rendition.

@strawdog1234567 It may not be the best rendition but he was a co-writer of the song so he always performed it. He also was a pretty good singer.

Guess you didn't understand the man sang about his life and who he was.
It takes alot to put your heart and soul out there for the world to see and enjoy.
Peter your fans still miss you and Thank You for the music and sharing of your personal life.
You still live on in the hearts of many of us.

Massively underrated singer-songwriter. Taken from the world far too early. Live on, Peter!
