  • The third port should be for testing the hard drive.

  • Didn't it come with a poercable ? :O. Thx you helped me locate the power, and i have the same question like you on that port on the right.

  • @WerewolfSlayer91 Nope, it didn't come with any cables whatsoever.

  • hey man I have a quick question hopefully you could answer it or anyone, Im low in memory on my iMac 2009 model and I was looking to upgrade my hard drive, do you think this hard drive will work with macs or only PC. Im tired of my iMac going slow because I don't have no more memory left only about 4gb left

  • @ThePapiGfunk I don't think I would recommend this as a system OS hard drive, but just a data drive. Because it's a "green" hard drive, it has variable speeds which can sometimes give you issues if you're running the OS off of it. So, for your iMac I'd look for the same brand hard drive that's in there now (could be seagate, or something else), but a steady speed like 7200 rpm. Read this: rhino. im/6

  • @ThePapiGfunk If you don't get the same brand, then the temperature sensor plugin won't work with your iMac, therefore forcing the fans to go maximum speed ALL THE TIME. Which can be extremely annoying.

  • @RhinoFeed oh k so you recommend to get the same brand as the hard drive I have now since the iMac has a Hitachi SATA hard drive..

  • @ThePapiGfunk Yup. Here's one that I think would be good for you. rhino .im/7

  • Thank you for the info.

  • RhinoFeed does it comes with a cable? to be connected to the CPU

    thank you.

  • @domars79 Usually the SATA cables come with your motherboard. These hard drives do not come with any cables. If you need to buy any, I highly recommend cablewholesale. com. If you order from there, you can use code 5FBE956 to get free shipping. Their cables are very good quality and super cheap! Thanks

  • hey do you think mine is about to fail because when power the computer a loud spinning noise of the drive starts and then a clack noise (not repeating) . Does this happen to yours when you turn your pc on? It is still working but i keep noticing it has slower an slower transfer rates (sometimes 8MB per second).

  • @BroknSircut Uh-oh. That doesn't sound good. The same thing happened to me with my hard drives before I even purchased there Barracudas. It would boot up fine and then over time it would just get slower and slower until I restarted or it auto shut down. I'd recommend doing a SpinRite (unfortunately not free, but wonderful software) test and fix up, sometimes that helps.

  • @RhinoFeed

To The Pirate Bay!!! ill try your advice.

  • @BroknSircut In linux it says it detects no smart errors

  • @RhinoFeed It made that noise when i first installed it. i thought it was normal since the drive would still transfer data. too late for Rma now...

  • that port is a jumper port

  • @Revanchist8525 Ahh, ok. ...what's it do? xD

  • @RhinoFeed well you can modify the current coming in to the hard drive to change its RPM speed to go lower (save energy) and for compatibility with older controllers. Otherwise DONT TINKER WITH IT lol it can seriously mess it up

  • @Revanchist8525 Wow, very interesting! That goes hand-in-hand with over clocking for me, I get a little bit too scared about doing anything like that.

  • @RhinoFeed oh and btw, i subbed your vids look very professional!

  • @Revanchist8525 :D THANK YOU!

  • @RhinoFeed :))))

  • I hear a bird in the background. Are you going to do an install video?
