Canada does not have a good health system. That is an absurd statement. Doctor shortages, Patients waiting for months and years, Not enough rooms in hospitals, low doctor compensation compared to the US, so much wrong. Harper has tried to bring more diversity to the health system and it is helping. Harper is a Conservative and a Conservative is just what Canada needed.

I've lived in Canada for over forty years. The health system has never let me down. The wait lists are for non-emergency procedures. If you are dying, you go to the front of the line.

How many people in the States go bankrupt from a medical bill? this does not happen here.

My mother is a citizen of Canada and has worked in both the US and Canadian Healthcare systems and everyone knows that the US private health care system is superior, thats why your famous people come to the US for special treatments and Canada is trying to bring in more private hospitals. Unfortunately Obama is trying to give us your system, which is completely flawed.

The number in Canada is zero.

No matter what happens in my life, I have medical back-up.

Lots of countrys in the world have similar systems to Canada, the States need to catch up.

Also, Canada's banking system is being looked at by the rest of the world as the model to copy.

I know Americans are not big on evolution, but it is time to evolve.

How many people do you think died unecessarily as a result of poor quality Canadian care? US deaths are almost never a result of lack of care or poor quality care. We have universal health care too. Everyone is entitled to care and emergency care in the United States regardless of ability to pay, this is something many foreigners and even Americans don't understand.

@JohnRhysMusician Don't forget that any province providing private clinics and hospitals or doctors charging user fees could be fined under the Canada Health Act as such operations are illegal.

In fact, British Columbia has been fined over $2.2 million since 1994 for frequent Canada Health Act violations as they charge user fees for doctor visits and MSI.

Nova Scotia was also fined for operating private MRI clinics.

Too bad Quebec never got fined for operating private clinics.

We did not have 8 years of Republican rule. We only have 5 1/2 years of full Republican control, then the rest of the time was a Democratic controlled legislature. Republicans historically have a better track record in the US for prosperity, domestic policy issues, as well as foreign policy issues. Bush was not considered a conservative down here in the US. He was considered an accident.
