  • My only complain to this game is the absence of the hood camera angle. Bumper camera is too low, you can't see a shit from the drivers seat and 3rd person camera is too "arcade" kind.

  • These 2 stages were fucken hard in advanced mode. Took like 45 minutes to get it right. If only i knew S5 and S6 were easy i would've settled for 4th or 5th in S1 and S2. All in an effort to avoid UK and blind driving there lol.

  • How did you manage to turn the Resolution to 1280x720 ? I can only see 1024x768

my screen is 15.6 (16:9) Laptop screen

  • @steafun67 Regedit -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Codemasters\Colin McRae Rally 04 -> Change the "Height" and "Width" values accordingly :)

It's gonna reset once you change the resolution in-game though.

  • @ChronoDog thanks a lot :) much appreciated

  • great game codemasters need to bring out a new game like this

  • Man, I really miss these kind of graphics. I personally think that today's graphics are ugly. :/

  • name of the music ???

  • OH, great game, I arranged the championship on local network in august of 2009 (between F1 rfactor seasons, he-he :), was cool. But the game has some lags with on-line =( Freez during the race, didn't know, how fixed its.

  • whats the music? is it yours? i mean - did you add it to the video?

  • incredible! an old game with these awesome graphics.

    fantastic!

  • Can i run the game with a nvidia geforce 6200 and 512mb ?

  • Codemasters really should do a game like this only with new graphics/sound and driving physics. Wouldn't be an instant succes??

  • @topografer i dont think so. They know us Americans don't care for rally. They have to add X games style gameplay to market in the US. I would love it I ordered CM 05 for my old Xbox, its gonna be new to me

  • did u adjust ur gearbox? japan for me s the hardest venue

  • 5 stars for the drivin mate nice

  • By far the best Colin McRae game to date. I have it for my Xbox but I had noooo idea this was on PC. I'm getting two of these cards(XFX Radeon 5770). Will and does it run on Vista 64bit without problems? What did you use to record this?

  • man... this was the best Colin Mc Rae...

now its getting worse and worse...

  • @motu828mk2

    I agree with you

  • @motu828mk2 i agree

  • Hey! How are you able to make your graphics look that awesome? My graphics look worse. Or is it the rain that makes eveything better?

  • @ikt93 Everything at maximum detail, Anisotropic Filtering x16, Ambient Occlusion forced ON... nothing else really, it's just a beautiful track :)

  • @ChronoDog Okay :) I have the same, without occlusions. (How do I enable them? Well, i don't think i'm using it anyway, my HD4830 can't handle occlusions that good .

You also should try ENB Series! I'm uploading a vid with ENB Series soon, it has effects like motion blur and bloom.

  • OMG ! it loocks almost real :O

  • Dude forget HD resolution if you squeeze the bitrate down to handheld rates before uploading to YouTube

  • It's google's recompression problem, first of all it doesn't work normally with anything the least bit above the "Main" profile.

Secondly, even though I uploaded the video at a really high quality (8k bitrate), it re-compressed it to this.

Found no way to bypass re-compression yet, tried a plethora of settings already.

  • Hmm what container formats did you try?

  • MP4, MKV, MOV, AVI, FLV

Googled my ass off trying to find a way not to trigger re-compression, but even with perfectly matched bitrate it still digests it :(

  • A remix of "Greece 2000" I think

  • Dude, who's song is that? Is it the game's? Thanks for the video.

  • woow whats the songs name? its awesome

  • looks awesome i was going to get this card how would it do with GTA4 i have 920 i7 9 gb ram

  • very well

  • it would run everything on high, gta is not that heavy on your gpu. its more a cou based

  • does this graphic card do good with crysis??? i need to know quickly, please!!!

  • lol, and you couldn't find a better place to ask :P

It's basically like a Radeon 4870, minus all the heat and power draw.

Wich means Crysis @ 1920x1200 full detail @ 45 fps.

  • thanks, im actually gonna pick up the 5870 in three days!!!

  • @ubergamer19 ABSOLUTELY!!!

  • Do you know if there's a problem on gaming if a have a good graphics card like radeon 5770 and a bad processor like an Athlon 64 3800?

  • Yah, your CPU would bottleneck the performance, aka not be able to throughput enough data and "starve" the videocard, resulting in the performance being affected only by the CPU.

Not the best example I could come up with, but it's kind of like putting a really powerful engine in your car, but limiting it to only the first 3 gears :P

  • damn an athlon, it might just be really slow loading!!! idk, but i do recommend a better cpu!!!

  • looks pretty sweet fort dx8

  • What's the song? I love trance.

And I've got an HD 5870 myself... the series is a huge improvement over all of the cards after the 9800 Pro!

  • Favourite racing-game EVER!

  • I drove this stage not long ago with this car on Advanced... freakin' hard one, no matter how hard you're hittin' that "Go Button", you're just a sec behind :D

  • are you running directx 11?

  • Wouldn't matter in this case, it's a DX8 game :P

  • song name? :)

    Nice drtiveing btw

  • should i get hd 4870 or hd 5770 ?

  • get the 5770, i go it this week for my birthday, best card i've ever gotten + it has direct x 11 , cheers

  • Comment removed

  • is this hd 5770 ?

  • It's rendered by one :P

  • > The downside is, obviously, that rendering any recent game at, suppose, 1920x1200 with 4xSSAA, means practically rendering the game at 7680x4800, which results in pretty crappy performance - hence why this feature is only useful on older games :)

Another is that the whole image looks dimmed, and out of focus akin to what digital imagers do as opposed to olden film cameras. I likes the modern ones better, when they work.

  • And that's where you're wrong :)

The downscaling algorithm actually makes it look sharper than the same image rendered at the same resolution, while being smooth in motion at the same time :)

  • And that's where reading comprehension comes in. I did not say a word about un-processed low-rez image.

  • you actually understood anything he said 0.0
