this film is overstepping a line. It is not a directors right to "out" these politicans, everybody knows that work stays at work, and social life is out of work. I'm ashamed that a director would produce such a film that would cause much trouble in the families of those shown in the film.
This is a case where the politician's "social life" affects their work. Work which is extremely important to millions of Americans. Nobody complains about Eliot Spitzer being publicly shamed - and his issues had NOTHING to do with his work. Here it is entirely relevant.
I just wanted to mention that Eliot Spitzer used tax payer dollars to pay for his extremely expensive addiction to hookers, so there is no line line between his work and personal life. Also, he has a pretty cushy job now as a political pundit, so evidently that "shaming" didn't hurt his career too badly. Bottom line is, if you are a closeted queer voting in ways that drastically affect the well-being of gays, you deserve to have that hypocrisy exposed. I don't see an issue here.

It really just goes to show that politics is a career now, rather than a passion. People go into politics for the money and power rather than the desire to actually make a difference.

You know what's really ironic to me? These people aren't doing anything to practice primacy over other more vulnerable people that the average straight person doesn't do daily. It's nobody's business. I am strongly against outing celebs including politicians as long as they don't discriminate against gays. You have to realize that it is not their fault to be gay. It's going to hurt their career if they come out. And NO, honesty is not always the best policey. Nobody needs to know what you do as long as you're not hurting anybody else. No one wants to be judged. We're all human beings and nobody is perfect.

This video and movie rock my socks. It's going to be awesome. It's the right time for a dose of their own medicine. Someone said something about what happens at work stays at work... and I say that's bullshit. These men make decisions about our lives, and then lead a double life. How the hell does that happen? I just wanted to mention that Eliot Spitzer used tax payer dollars to pay for his extremely expensive addiction to hookers, so there is no line line between his work and personal life. Also, he has a pretty cushy job now as a political pundit, so evidently that "shaming" didn't hurt his career too badly. Bottom line is, if you are a closeted queer voting in ways that drastically affect the well-being of gays, you deserve to have that hypocrisy exposed. I don't see an issue here.

If you are secretly gay and you are a senator, politician, or any kind of official and you are denigrating gay people openly and without thought or feeling for the people you are hurting, then you (they) should be outed, and I'm not a fan of outing so that's saying something. Uh, these allegations were firmly rejected almost TWENTY YEARS AGO. He didn't blackmail anyone - you're bringing the "Frank Rule" into the mix and this had nothing to do with these false allegations. Somebody complained and an usher came up and told me that if I wouldn't sit in the seat properly he would have to ask me to leave. The wrong presumptions arise because we don't talk about it and movies or documentaries, or reports like this open up discussion which is never bad.
