I have the same type of rig on my R1...but it just uses air speed the swing the plate up.  50 cent hinge and a pair of screws.

U need: Air Tank, Air Cylinder and Tag on Rollers....Suck the Tag up in 0.2 seconds, Kill switch for the Tail light Ground to Black out the Tails and tag light....Gear down and Bounce!
