CHAPTER XLVII Without leaving his door He knows everything under heaven. Without looking out of his window He knows all the ways of heaven. For the further one travels The less one knows. Therefore the Sage arrives without gonig, Sees all without looking, Does nothing, yet achieves everything. Tao Tê Ching trans. by Arthur Waley
Thanks for this video. I do not have the album which contains it. And, it, too is one of my favorite songs of George's ever since I saw the "Concert for George" in which Jeff Lynne and Dhani Harrison sang the song accompanied by Anouschka Shankar. What a beautiful melody George wrote to go with those words from the "Tao Te Ching". (George's words) Beautiful pictures, too.
@beatlefreakomg-Excuse me, do you know the name of the song(I believe it's a George song, not quite sure) that contains a line something along the lines of "you can look for miles in the house of mirrors, but ___________disguises"
I have always loved this song because of its soulful lyrics. As a new born Christian, I can appreciate George Harrison even more. You are missed, George. I am glad you found peace with god, before you met him.Bless you.
Hi!, how are you? The music doesn't sound very good =/ .. I mean: I have the song and I love it! But in this video it has a low quality. But because of all the work you did, I leave you a 5 ;)
The Inner Light is very spiritual. George got the words from verse 47 of the Tao Te Ching. I love the song. He combined Indian music elements with a Western pop song.
I hope the "Inner light" has become the light of the world he now inhabits. God be with ye George.
yeah i know, the sound kinda sucks. i recorded it on my camera because i didn't know how to get the song on my computer i couldn't get it from windows media.
george was so hot :O

Tao Te Ching - Lao Tzu - chapter 47
Without going outside, you may know the whole world.
Without looking through the window, you may see the ways of heaven.
The farther you go, the less you know.
Thus the sage knows without travelling;
He sees without looking;
He works without doing.
