i think i will just remain happy with my ar-15's instead of spending 8k. i would rather alter the fire selector & run the risk of being caught in illegal position of an auto before i paid 8k but i dont want it that bad to take the risk. i shoot my colt carbine all the time but its not wearing it out. i have fired 800+ rounds through it & not one jam. if you clean your rifle, lubricate your rifle, use brass ammo, & use magazines proven to feed correctly these rifles fire flawless.

fifteen grand just for a lower receiver with an auto fire selector seems crazy. i see colt m16a1's selling for $15k-$16k & that includes a well maintained original upper & bolt carrier group. maybe you are expecting to much money. i thought maybe i could get a lower by itself cheaper & put a upper on it from another rifle. you need to put a colt upper on it.

Well, my friend bought it for $5k, but it would sell for $15k+ now. It has a short barrel upper (11.5in) in the Video, he also has many other uppers, that can be used with the Full Auto lower.

Ok M4's 1st where made in '94, so since we can only own pre '86 full Autos, Yes it's not a real M4. It is a Class III $200 tax stamped M16 lower with a telescoping stock. Since the M4 is just a variant of the M16A2, it's as close as we can get.

your right I took a second look but we did use 10.3,14.5, and a 20in barrel that day, but the M4A1 with a Close Quarter Battle Receiver has a barrel length of 10.3 inches.M4 comes in 2 lengths

Well it's a full auto lower with a 14.5 in flat top upper with carry handle, but yes It's NOT an M4 since the M4 was first made in 1994 well pass the 86 cut of date that us civs can have. It is the closest thing a Civ can have in owning one.

yes and no. You can only get full-auto lowers made before 1986. But you can buy DIAS (MADE BEFOE 1986) and place them in a new lower. both cost $10k-$15k.

There are two types of AR15 Drop-In Auto-Sears (DIAS) The "pre-81" sears are commonly advertised in Shotgun News for about $125-$200.(Illegal) The registered and transferable ones are much more difficult to find, and currently are priced in the $7500 - 8500 price range. Thats to make an AR-15 full-auto thats not a real M4 with 3 round burst and all that stuff. So Kentucky doesn't suck your crazy and 2k is not getting you a legal full-auto.

If you got a transferable (pre-ban) one for 2K, I imagine it was a long time ago at the beginning of the ban. You made a great investment. You could easily get 10K for it today. (That's if you can bring yourself to part with it!) A law enforcement agency can get full auto guns for much less, but they're post-ban guns that can't be owned by an individual. They belong to the department.
