  • Man! I'm looking for the partition of this vocal knot for months! Could you give it to me?

  • @Bumblebulgare Phil Smith's transcribed it and it's on the GG official website. Go to the link in the video description.

  • Absolutely GREAT !!

  • this is awesome

  • @At0micGarden

    Thank You!

  • love gentle giant and this was incredible, i always wondered how they managed too pull this off vocally and you just did it on GUITAR!!! haha hope too see more

  • This is just fantastic! 1:15 - 1:22 gets me every time, it's like the music from Bagpuss but played in four dimensions and twice as fast.

  • Yeah, it's a great song. One of the best by GG. Thank you.

  • Watched it for like 10 times and cant stop...

Did you make out the notes by ear or did they publish the notes ?

  • Thank you godu. Worked it on my own but at some point I consulted the different lines for this on Phil Smith's transcription, you can find some sheet music at GG Official Website.

  • @hyperboreal

Great job! And thank you for the shout-out on the transcriptions...If you search gendes giant on reflection you can see my band attempting this vocally (that's me, playing piano and singing the 5th part.) LOVE it on guitar - brilliant!

  • @philsmithgentlegiant

Hi Phil, couldn't have made it without those transcriptions of yours. Thanks a lot to you! I'll check those videos soon, and thanks again for stopping by.

  • 5 starts is not nearly enough for this.

I give it at least 7.

    Breath taking

  • Thanks for those 7 stars, mate.

  • Lovely!

  • Very imaginative! And it sounds like you got every note right.

  • Five stars! Brilliant!

  • awesome!

  • this is so cool!

and it looks so fun to play :P maybe someday!

  • Gran arreglo! Eres un virtuoso......Felicitaciones. Gentle Giant members should be glad that their compositions inspire such and artistic work.

  • Great work.

  • This is great too! Really accurate arrangement.

  • Glad you liked it, thanks a lot.

  • amazing...nice voicings great band great song and excellent technique.

  • Excellent work my friend!I had ideas with this tune a long time favorite, along the same lines with multilple parts but with a 12 string in the mix...............I have been inspired to attempt. Thanks!

  • That'd be nice to listen. Let me know about it.

  • Very good!!! I will try to play in a cover band!!

  • amazing cover

  • great great great great!!

  • As Derek said after Ray's amazing violin flurry on The Face, "OH! WOW!

  • This has been my favorite piece by them.

What a great piece of work you have done here.

Thanks for showing your great talent!

  • Amazing and awe-inspiring! You picked a great band and tune to highlight your superior musical skills and development. GREAT job. 5 stars without a doubt! (7, if I could)!

  • WELL DONE!

  • do you feeeel alone in the secret?

  • SWEEEEEEEEEET

  • wow...amazing job! it had to be tough ironing our the different melodies from the original tune, but it sounded spot on.....post more stuff!

  • " In my way did I use you, do you think I'd really abuse you on reflection now it doesn't matter..." Very nicely done! You've done GG fans proud.

  • Truly awesome

  • that was good!!

  • Nice work, man!

  • Parabéns. Well done. Congratulations!

    Haribol!

  • Excelente!!!!!!!!! Ya lo tengo en mis favoritos.

  • Very impressive. Lots of fun!

  • very very well man!! Its great to hear it on guitar arrangement!! I think you just got a couple of notes wrong on the harmonies at the end of the first movement, but its a great job you did!!!, did you transcribed by ear?, I have transcrbd a lot of guitar oriented GG songs, if yo got more, maybe we can exchange some, take care and keep it up!!

  • "All Around All around"

    Grandissimi!!!!

  • Superb!

  • NICE..gentle giant meets armik...

  • Fantastic and inspirational! Thanks..John Eyre

  • Good one! I love this song!

  • excellent job! absolutely wonderful.

  • Maravilloso...

  • Very, VERY good. :o

  • xcellent!!!!...GOD save GG

  • Very well done! How did you manage to get all the melodies apart? I tried Talibont, from the same wonderfull Gentle Giant album: Free Hand. Back in those day's I had to do it with only tape overdubs...and one guitar.

  • It's part of Phil Smith's transcription and part me. I tried to get the melodies apart from a live video recording at first but later I remembered this guy who had been transcribing some GG music so I looked at their website and there I found the score with all the voices. I've put the link on the description of the video.

  • hyperboreal

Such a fantastic tribute to MY favorite band. Nicely done!

    BZ

  • Very Nice.

  • Truly Truly Amazing! I have an arrangement of "His Last Voyage" (done on my Yamaha 4 track) on a 6 string guitar in C, with a 12 string, one step tuned down to D, with a mandolin subsituting bass. It sounds really good, though I think I can do it it better. You've given me some great ideas. Thanks.

  • That´s great ihatetheblues! I´m anxious to listen to it and see how you make it work. It looks really good.

I´d also like to do stuff with 12-string guitars but they´re a little harsh for me in terms of digitation at the moment.

  • just a sample of how complex good music is !!!

  • Incredibly well done. For some reason, the complexity of this arrangement stands out more on guitar to me than the original voice version. There will never be another like the Giant!

  • just.. WOW! o.O! NICE WORK!!

  • Great video man! Awesome sounds!

  • Outstanding - keep up the great work!

  • Exellent rendition...I also have been listening to this stuff for 30 years. I plan to forward this to all my six-string friends!

  • Nice work.

Takes me back about 30 years!

  • Simply wonderful.Perfect !!!

    Keep the Giant alive.
