I don´t think, that Quorthon knew this album. He wasn´t any "metal maniac", he was a quiet man, introvert, and he didn´t care so much about metal scene.
From interviews and other footage/sources, that is what I always thought, but you never know. No great musician really cares about scenes, that's just common sense, and Root is not much of a scene band, the first time they went to do a live show to Sweden was no earlier than 2000
I think he knew it, is only question of seeing the date of launching of each album, the Nordland I, was launched in 2002, and the temple in the underworld, was launched before 10 years, in 1992. Reach conclusions.
I can assure you that the majority of Root records exist in Scandinavia at the moment. Have you even seen footage of Root's first show in Sweden? I don't think so. The crowd there says it all.
I have seen videos from their first performance in Sweden, Falkenberg, 2001. It was great. Guys from Root are good, their contact with the fans is perfect, but are they so popular metal band in Sweden?

Do you have that "Deep in Root" DVD? It is hard to find outside of the Czech Republic !
