Ich weiss, sie singt nicht für mich. Ich weiss, und trotzdem glaube ich dass ich sie verstehen kann obwohl ich bin ein Mann, und trotzdem find ich sie super.
Okay people, i only discovered this 'scene' 2 days ago, i am gonna need to know more riot grrrl and lesbian queercore bands to check out. Any suggestions?
@TheOneAndOnlyRuth pansy division rockbitch & limp wrist r great queercore bands and bikini kill, bratmobile, huggy bear, heavens to betsy, sleater-kinney, le tigre and the frumpies are awesome riot grrrl bands and excuse 17 is a little bit of both
Brilliant, moving and more-or-less universal, seems a shame that such great music is hidden away in a 'scene', although I appreciate that it means a lot more for some folk than it ever could for me.
when i was about 15,, this was one of the first gay songs i ever heard on a queercore mixed tape my friend had made me with tribe 8, sister george, pansy division, huggy bear and such, changed my life. miss team dresch
no... but it sounds like it could definitely be referencing the relationship between an individual and drugs due to addiction... bc before i got clean, rather than off myself cuz i was scared, i'd try to numb the pain by chemically altering my mood.. and, the drugs that were telling me "it's ok" and that "i wouldn't die" if i continued to use them excessively, i didn't believe.. all i knew was familiar pain and being in a comfortably miserable and dependent relationship w/ drugs..
I use to listen to this song all the time. I haven't heard it in years. It comforts me so much. The lyrics are so simple but so fucking true. Love team dresch. And also the butchies.
