Some time in the 60s, Nissan/Datsun bought the design, and fitted it to their main 4WD, the Patrol. Other than fit a Japanese carburettor and ignition, they did nothing to it. A former boss of mine had a 4.2 short wheelbase version. After fitting a 350 Holley and headers, he used it to pull his 30 foot boat, which it did with ease. That and pulling old tree stumps out of the ground

What a nice job on the frame, floor, seats geometry on the wishbones looks spot on, the only thing i'm wondering about is the geometry on the drag link, looks like it could have alittle bump steer. This is not a rat rod ,looking at your other videos this truck is well built and certainly safer than most all that are true to the term rat rod! A unique HOT ROD thats what it is!

@Draxindustries1 - how is there no thought to pedestrian safety? its got adequate brakes for it weight, decent rubber to grip the roads with, all the lights required, the cabs not been chopped {from looks} so its got plenty of room to see out through the widows, jack all blind spots in other words... the steering looks like its very well thought out and built and the suspension and drive line seems to be all correct and is up to if not above legal standards.

Are you judging on looks? have you stopped to think that alot of these "rat rods" are actually better built than many true hot rods? have you realized that a rat rod owner takes more pride in the safe running of his car than the average teen in a hatchback? have you stopped and thought - and realised that alot of a hot rods wieght is the engine - and this ones smaller, lighter and has less power so it will not get you into trouble as easily.

Would that engine be the Blue Flame 6, common among the passenger car Chevys from the 30s to the 50s? Some time in the 60s, Nissan/Datsun bought the design, and fitted it to their main 4WD, the Patrol. Other than fit a Japanese carburettor and ignition, they did nothing to it. A former boss of mine had a 4.2 short wheelbase version. After fitting a 350 Holley and headers, he used it to pull his 30 foot boat, which it did with ease. That and pulling old tree stumps out of the ground
