This was a tremendous help! I still can't talk while doing it, but I feel like I have the basic technique now which is a huge leap! I wish I could hear you actually talk with the rolled R to hear how you execute it in conversation. You should make another video!

I already knew how to do a thrilled "r" I just wasn't paying attention and thought it was for German because I would like to improve a bit but this video should work for basically everyone because I thrilled my "r" as she gave directions and that's what I have been doing all along so everyone this is probably the best video for thrilling your "r" out there! You truly should consider being some sort of teacher, or maybe even interpreter (same sort of brain-skills--good teachers have those, that is), sometime.

For a girl who had the "wrong"-shaped tongue and/or teeth and all that? Being able to explain it? Wow. Kids I went to school with were either born doing the R-trill or they never got it.

This was actually really helpful...I could make that trill sound before but not combined with the "r" sound and even though it takes a lot of concentration at the moment, I can actually do the Spanish trill :) (Probably my biggest barrier to speaking Spanish haha)

I did it by squeezing my cheeks onto the back of my tongue, letting the front of my tongue free outside of the cheek squeeze zone, and then using my neck muscles to force air through my throat as if I was trying to yell.

Oddly enough I find this easy to do and I can't speak Spanish. I used to do it quite unconciously when I was a kid just to pass time. I used to just say the word "Drill" and loudly vibrate my tongue on the "R" sound so it sounded like "Drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrill". It was oddly satisfying LOL :P

I personally think the French trill is much harder, as in English that part of your throat is never used.

Many of them go to "foniatras" (I dont know the word in english, I think is "phoniatrician" ) to get the problem solved.
